The dinner we had was fantastic, we had one wagyu and one standard. The staff were very nice, the onsen was good.

Our first Ryokan experience. Lovely bright spacious room and the feeling of being in a large private house. Staff were so helpful and friendly.

The onsen made me melt especially after the few weeks of straight hiking. Definitely needed.

Absolutely loved our stay—this ryokan delivers a truly authentic Japanese experience. From the moment we arrived, the host was exceptional: warm, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our stay comfortable. The traditional setting is beautiful, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need (and a few extras we didn’t expect!). The location is fantastic—peaceful yet convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The attention to detail in both the accommodation and service really stands. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a genuine and relaxing ryokan experience.

The private onsen was excellent and the ryokan has a great traditional atmosphere.

wonderful authentic ryokan experience, very friendly family-run atmosphere, everything provided, great Kaiseki dinner (not included in hotel rate), topped off with a relaxing spa before enjoying a good nights sleep in the spacious suite on original futon mattress on tatami floor

Nice location, close to Takayama but quietly tucked away from the city center. The kaiseki dinner was wonderful, and the onsen really a plus after a day discovering the area!

The host Mr Murayama was fantastic- he couldn’t do enough for us. Staff were lovely. We ate breakfast and dinner there, the food was amazing. Location, close to the folk village, free shuttle bus to and from the station . Private Onsen available
