We really enjoyed everithing during our 2 days stay. Our hosts were very gentle and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were gorgeous: very délicate food, such différent tastes. So much food that we could hardly eat all. Room is really nice, with a view on the garden and forest nearby. Onsen was nice also Esther private or public We had no car, and could manage with the bus. So long you plan a bit your move within the area, it is ok. Eventually you Walkman along the road for 10 minutes Thank you again!

“Amazing place to unwind!”
A place that makes you feel that you can unwind and relax, and leave feeling refreshed. My husband and I had a great time at this ryokan, everything was great, from the staff to the facilities, and the meals that we had over two days. We picked the half board, and were pampered with very delectable Japanese meals. Outdoor onsen was a great way to unwind after a long hike at Kamikochi. Also a special shoutout to Koji-san, for being such a great host!

“The best dinner in town”
The dinner was beyond all expectations, a real masterpiece of Japanese cuisine. The hot outdoor in-suit bath was a very pleasant experience, too. The staff was very helpful.

“Fantastic Ryokan”
Everything about this Ryokan is wonderful, especially the staff. From the moment we arrived at the parking lot we were looked after. The food, facilities, baths, absolutely everything was great. They have found the perfect balance between looking after their guests and giving us our space.

“Very welcoming and comfortable stay in a beautiful area of Japan”
The accomodation is situated in a very beautiful area. We were looked after very well by staff during our stay. We were even given a lift to the nearest bus stop to make sure we wouldn't miss the next bus to the Shin Hotaka ropeway. English is spoken by some staff members. The kaiseki meal we ate was very special. We booked a room with a private onsen bath and we also booked a larger private onsen to use - both were lovely. The property is easy to get to by bus from Takeyama - there is a bus stop right in front of the property. Everything was very clean and well-maintained.

“A magical experience in the mountains”
It was a special experience from the moment you enter the doors. The dinner was spectacular and the rooms with private onsen were beautiful. The staff were extremely accommodating. Very friendly and patient with us foreigners. We were provided with robes and slippers for the stay and all guests wear these around the property. The private onsen you can book is lovely.

“Wow, lovely Ryokan for true Japanese experience”
Wow - our only stay in a Ryokan whilst in Japan but it was a very good one. The host kindly & patiently explained everything in English for us so we understood how it all worked. Great location with a bus stop outside so easy to get to. Beautiful surroundings. The evening meal was incredible especially as it was our first experience!

“A beautiful ryokan tucked away in the mountains”
We had the loveliest time in Ryokan Kutsuroginoya Yuu. We stayed just one night, but it was one of the most relaxing nights we’ve had in a while! The staff was warm and welcoming, ever so helpful. We loved the private onsen in the room, but the public onsen was absolutely stunning. The kaiseki meal we had was delicious, absolutely worth the money for the experience and the amount of food we had. The rooms were lovely and cozy. A wonderful experience that we wished didn’t have to end.

We had a long day of driving, but it was all worth it when we got here. The dinner menu was incredible; quality ingredients and a course-style meal. Both the private and public onsens were superb. We only stayed for 1 night, but I wish we could've stayed more. 10/10

“Onsen by the mountains”
I like that they have a private hot onsen which can be used any time as long as can be tolerated, while one is checked in. There is also a public onsen which can be booked ahead of time. The half board set-up is also good so that one does not have to worry about where to have a meal after a long day of traveling/touring. Best of all, the owner/s are hands-on. Customer service is wonderful.

“Magical”
This was a truly amazing stay for my partner and I. The service was so friendly and accommodating - they made a big effort to communicate everything in English which we appreciated. The private onsen in our room was great and it snowed while we were there which made the experience all the more magical. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious! Highly recommend ❤️
