The best onsen ever, with amazing views. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional — one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

“Fantastic onsens!”

- The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also spoke great English - The onsen is amazing: there is a male only section, a female only section and a mixed section. Males/Female only sections have an indoor pool, a sauna, a Korean sauna, two outdoor onsens and a standing up onsen. Those are Japanese style onsens where full nudity is expected. There is also a mixed-gender onsens will a large outdoor onsen and a cave onsen. In the mixed onsens, both men and women have to wear a Yuami (sort of "towel skirt" for men and a "towel dress" for women). If you aren't comfortable with full nudity then this is perfect to experience the onsen. They also have two private onsens that you can rent out for a small fee, but we didn't need them as the onsens were fairly quiet, especially after 9pm. - The hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, whilst you could come by bus, a car is probably better (especially to be able to explore the beautiful area!). This was a plus for us as it was very quiet and the location next to a large waterfall is fantastic. - The room is massive and has a small fridge. This was our favorite hotel so far during our trip in Japan, we couldn't wait to get back to the hotel everyday to enjoy the onsen!

The outdoor mixed bath is one of the best.

Sensational open-air onsens with glowing green water and breathtaking snow scenery, impressive Japanese cousin with locally grown vegetables and hospitable staff, amazing for those looking for indulgence in non-crowded natural environment. If possible, the resort is definitely worth revisiting.

Multiple onsens - sleeping, standing, cypress wood, stove boulders, indoor, outdoor (mixed gender). Dinner and breakfast in private room. Staff had very good service. Beautiful mountain and waterfall scenery

- open-air onsens - wearing a yukata - the staff were incredibly polite. They practically bowed halfway with every interaction, making the service feel exceptionally respectful - easy access from Takayama

“Great nature, great food, great Onsen, super great staff”

The rooms are comfy and huge, the Onsen is very nice, the location is great surrounded by mountains, remote but still very good public transport. I enjoyed the nature side so much here. The highlight was the staff - especially the women at reception Deki and Nway and in the restaurant Chimi and Joy did an incredible good job. As a vegetarian it is not always easy to find hotels that provide vegetarian dinner option. As there is nothing around I needed to eat in the hotel and they made special set meals for me which tasted so good. I highly appreciated their effort for my comfort. Arigato!!

The hot bath (Onsen) is just great, and the exterior mix Onsen is beautiful (we visited during the foliage peak). Rooms are spacious and you get the full Japanese experience.

Beautiful location, spacious rooms, dinner and breakfast exceeded expectation for the cost of the stay and serving staff were very friendly. Onsen was excellent - mixed gender outdoor onsen was lovely and very quiet when we visited. We also booked the private onsen twice for a small fee. It rained once but this added to the atmosphere. For the cost it was exceptional value.

The staff were very nice and helpful, the whole experience of the traditional Japanese room was very exciting, the private host for the meal was fun (but the food itself wasn't to our taste unfortunately) The Futons beds were better than expected. The location was nice (we had a car)

“A great location and a great Onsen.”

The hotel is close to Kamikochi National Park which was our reason for visting this area. It's in the beautiful a Japanes Alps and there are some great walking trails from Kamikochi. The Onsen at the hotel was good too being outside and with a few different pools to choose from where you can sit and look at the surrounding forest. Yuami-ji (modesty clothing) are provided to that men and women can share the same pools but there are also separate men and women's pools as well a private pool that can be booked at a small extra cost.

We loved the hotel from first site. Very pleasant place. Beautiful environment. The onsen is excellent.
