Our stay at the minshuku was great. Everything is very authentic and gives you a perfect glimpse of living in the old Japanese style. The Japanese breakfast was a hit.

Very traditional minshuku. Exactly what I was expecting. I have travelled back and forth in Japan and I would recommend this place if you want an authentic experience. Toilet and bath were common as they are in this type of minshukus. We ordered a breakfast too and it was marvellous Japanese style breakfast with manu small dishes.

Great location,we moved after one night due to it being booked up but kept coming to the area for food. Lady seemed lovely, good traditional hotel

“Warm Takayama stay!”

A real friendly welcome into Takayama, we stayed in a traditional Japanese room with a shared bathroom which was a really cool experience. The beds were deceivingly comfy and we easily got laundry and sheet changing done with the help of the fantastic staff! Takayama is a very walkable town and this place was in a perfect location between the railway station and the old town.

The location is perfect between the train station and main town. It’s all spanking clean and the hosts are ever so lovely, so helpful and friendly. The Japanese breakfast is divine, such great value for money

Our best stay in Japan. It feels really traditional and cozy. The bathroom is separately, but we didn't mind it at all. Really nice and helpful owners

It is 5 minutes walk from the JR station, super convenient. The room was a traditional Japanese style tatami and it was huge for the japanise standard, a lot of space for your luggages. The futons were comfy and we slept very well. The onsen was amazing, perfect to rest at the end of a long day of walks.

The traditional house was beautiful and quaint. Everything is clean and comfortable. When we arrived out yukatas and a pot of hot water for tea was there to wait for us.The owner is extremely kind and the in-house onsen small and extremely nice. Not even to mention the location. 5 minuts walking with big luggage from the station, in front of one of the major shrine of town and 3 minutes walking from the old district. It definitely made us fall in love with Takayama even more.

Convenient location; nearby many restaurants, just a few minutes walk away from JR/Nohi Bus station, coin laundry, convenience stores, Old Town and Markets. Traditional experience, after walking around all day a soak in the onsen was perfect!! Free wifi was easy to connect to and had good speed. Our room was tidied daily and amenities were restocked. Host waited at the door to see us off after we checked out on the last day

A lovely homely place with a sweet owner. You can choose between a little more modern lodging with the western rooms with their own bathroom or have the traditional tatami room with a futon. The toilet and bath are up to date. I loved sinking into the onsen.

We liked everything very much. Traditional small cosy room in Japanese style, simple but absolutely sufficient. Great location within walking distance of everything important. And a nice onsen available. Great communication with a very nice hostess :)

Great location to the bus centre. We chose the in house breakfast one morning and it was very delicious. There are shared onsen baths, which were lovely.
