Wonderful guesthouse with such welcoming hosts, who make you feel at home. The atmosphere here was lovely and homely, with traditional Japanese features. There was a nice group of solo travellers who were here so we all sat round the table and shared some of the free sake! It’s in a great location too - very close to the station and local shops. The kitchen was great too with ingredients for cooking/appliances.

Super close to the train/bus station, walking distance to everything else too. Traditional floor mats for sleeping. Good heating as it was quite cold! Nice family owned and run!

I had a really lovely stay here. It’s a small, family-run guesthouse where you truly feel welcomed and taken care of. Takayama itself is quite compact, and the old town is only about a 5-minute walk away, which makes the location very convenient. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, and a FamilyMart is just around the corner. The hosts gave great recommendations for things to do in the area, including a beautiful temple walk and places to explore around the old town, which has a lot of charm despite being quite small. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Pretty much everything, the free tea was better than any other place I've stayed, the room was large, the kitchen was quite well stocked, the wifi was good, etc.

Great place to stay in takayama! We loved the homely vibe and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful to us (especially when we were worried about transport in the snow). Would recommend staying here if you get the chance

I spent one night here during my trip to visit Takayama and Shirakawago. It was a great experience! The guesthouse is in a very convenient location, about 200 metres from Takayama Bus Station and about a 15-20 minute walk from all the main sights in the city. The owners of the guesthouse were very attentive, welcoming and friendly. They also gave me excellent advice on trying local onsen and izakaya. The accommodation was excellent. The facility is simple but has everything you need for a pleasant stay. I was sorry to only spend one night there.
