For a single person room it was perfect. Very good room with tatami, good size and comfortable, clean, quite and convinient location, 5 minute walk from the old town center, hill park and shrines. Really enjoyed the stay here and in Takayama!

Tatami mats in the room, very nice view from the window,, very quiet. Large and comfortable common area for cooking and sitting. Facilities all working well. Definitely one of the better stays on my journey.

I had a single person room here and it was actually perfect. A decent size for me and my 2 big bags, very clean and a really convinient walking distance to the old town centre (about 5-10min walk). Really enjoyed being based here for my stay in Takayama!

“Cute traditional guest house”
The house is on the top of a small hill close to Takayama's old quarters, but it's not difficult to get there. The traditional room was gorgeous and the futons were comfortable. Hanzansha was welcoming and graciously waited for our arrival even though we got there a little later than expected. There was a kitchenette available. Everything was very clean.

“Very pleasent stay!!”
The owner was the sweetest person! It is quite hard to get up there with a big car and he helped me a lot!:) He was very kind and helpful! The Futon was also very comfortable, good Shower and a Kitchen/Livingroom to bring your own food :) also very calm surrounding a little bit a up the hill but only 10 min by foot to the historic City Center! Perfect!

“Nice Sleeping Place for low budgets”
Very good location in the vicinity of the old town and in the vicinity of several hiking trailsbbut still a quiet quarter. Very good price to value ratio. Especially for guests which are the whole day on there adventures and just need a good sleeping place it is a good choice.

“Best experience in Japan!”
Wow!! What a guesthouse was this. Traditional house with other guests. Your own roam with the most comfy beds we’ve ever slept in! Takayama is also beautiful, and this location is really good for the fun part of Takayama, and also for a hike in the nearby hills. The staff was the best there was: kind, helpful and respectful! Well recommend this property to everyone!!

Great place in a quiet location up the hill. Nice to be away from the crowds and still close to many things. Note that the toilet and shower room are downstairs which was a bit inconvenient, but ok!

“Lovely, Traditional house”
Location is very good we were able to reach it walking from the Train station. The room was very spacious and besides being winter when we travelled the room was very well equipped and had a hot/cold air conditioner, which was greatly appreciated. The living room area in the room was very pretty.

“it was okay but it was a good experience for the old house”
it was an unique experience to stay in a japanese house, the mattress was confortable and the room and common spaces were very clean, the old neighboorhood is only 5 minutes by walk, it 's very convenient :) you can store your suitcase before the check-in and check-out.
