“The best evening meal we have had in our 6 weeks of travel in Japan!”

We enjoyed staying in this authentic, traditional Ryokan. Our hosts were so friendly and polite, and the evening meal we ordered was delicious. It’s a quirky place with the owners having a huge collection of animae models!

The ryokan has everything you need and is very comfortable. It really felt like being at home. I stayed on a half-board plan and the meals were traditional and delicious, with a generosity in both the food and even the sake pour (which I ordered twice). I also arrived at a time when I had the onsen to myself, which was a lovely touch after a long day of cycling. As I had left my USB adapter in luggage storage elsewhere, the staff kindly loaned me one of theirs to charge my phone, which was a lifesaver while on the road. I accidentally took the room key with me after checking out, and the owner kindly came looking for me along the cycling path to retrieve it. I felt very apologetic, but really appreciated the effort and care.

“Gem of a ryokan”

A lovely experience. Friendly welcome, very helpful from the owner and his son. Room was large, comfortable, relaxing and very clean. We stayed half board for two nights and the food was magnificent. Nice baths. Went hiking in the hills one day, superb and took the ferry to the island the next and from there to Nagahama. Great trip.

The host of the guesthouse was very kind, and the extra dinner we ordered—Wagyu sukiyaki—was incredibly delicious. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance!

Breakfast was sumptuous and beautiful. Shabu shabu dinner, ordered after arriving, was excellent. The milk tofu and shashimi entrees were amazing, so were the meat and vegetables. We were very happy with the owner’s recommendation of the cruise to Chikubu island. The onsen was fabulous. Walking distance to the train station and many good restaurants in spite of being a small town. We enjoyed walking along the lake and listening to the waves. We would highly recommend this ryokan.

The food was incredible and the service was amazing. I really enjoyed this place.

Host was hospitable and friendly. Onsen usually closed in the morning but he offered to open upon request from 6am to 8am. Room was clean and spacious.

“Real Japanese Hospitality”

Everything about our stay is perfect. This Ryokan is full of character. Great hospitality from the owner - they are very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable and provided good dinner recommendations. Having an onsen in the ryokan is a huge bonus - this is probably the highlight of our stay. Authentic Japanese breakfast served. The location is near the train station making sites around Lake Biwa accessible. We're so glad we stayed here.

“Cozy”

I stayed here while biking around lake biwa. The dinner was delicious and the onsen felt great after a day of biking! The owner was kind and gifted me keychains and candy 🥹 Thank you very much 🙏

Me and my brother was there for a night to go snowboarding at hakodateyama ski resort. The host family is so nice and kind. The room is exceptional and very clean. The bathroom is beautiful. And great location.
