“Nice stopover”

We had a tatami room, without bathroom. Spacious, a bit outdated but well maintained. The onsen was nice Breakfast and dinner was okay, not too many choices but will do. However, the air extraction could be much better. Especially during dinner the whole place was a bit smokey.

Sprawling facility in the middle of mount aso area. Very family friendly with play areas and toys for children of all ages. Buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious. Rooms were spacious and futons comfortable. Free parking.

Food and service was incredible. There was even an observatory with a telescope, staff were super helpful with stargazing!

Dinner and breakfast is average but strawberries in dinner is very good.

Excellent breakfast / dinner with variaty of choices. Suggest to have different menu every day. We stayed for 2 nights and had the same food, a bit bored. The stars night watch was a life experience for me.

Kids loved this place! They had all sorts of extra touches for them including a small playground, kids pillows, bathroom accessories etc. Food was exceptional (we got half a melon each for dessert!) and varied. View of Mt Aso was stunning, especially from baths. Staff were very helpful.

Spectacular view of Mt.Aso from the hotel. Great location! Make it easy to go hike there and come back to comfortable stay.

“Amazing view and strawberries”

The view of the mountains was awe-inspiring. The breakfast and dinner spread was good although it was the same food daily. The strawberries at dinner were particularly outstanding. The option to bring desserts back to the room after mealtime was also interesting.

we had a relaxing and comfortable stay. while design of the place was dated, it didnt affect us much. pls note the half board is buffet style and not the usual multi-course personal serving!

“Would totally come again!!!”

It’s really value for money, super family friendly, and comes with lots of perks - dessert/fruits/tea can be taken into your room after meal times, ball pit for kids, a small corner to rent games and balance bike, onsen, coin laundry with dryer. Sound insulation was also good, didn’t hear much of other people even though it looked quite full during meal times. Really worth it, especially with kids. We slept really well but note that the room temp cannot be adjusted - it was fine for us as not too cold at night. They had kids pillows, small step stools, kids yukata as well. Highly recommend! Other comments talked about spider webs but it’s part of the rustic charm of the place and these are not inside the rooms so it’s totally fine for us. Great view of Mt Aso!

Both Japanese Buffet Dinner & Buffet breakfast are fabulous provided with special seasonal food.

good breakfast and dinner. the scenery around the area is beautiful with easy access to Mount Aso lookout points. I travelled by motorcycle and this are was a riders paradise.

It has play area for the kids. The buffet spread is decent.

Beautiful location and lots of things to do. Great location to explore the Aso National Park as well as Takachiho Gorge. Very good dinner and breakfast.
