Great place! The house is even more beautiful inside than in the photos. It's very close to the waterfalls, and the view from the window is lovely. The host was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend!

The location and place

“It works for one night”

It was cheap. What you get for that: a tatami room with adjacent bathroom and toilet, a dirty big room with kitchenstuff, and some furniture. probably an old workshop? Walking to the boats for the gorge: 30 min down down down - you have to climb back up again, no bus after 17:07. Be aware: all restaurants close at 18:00. yes, even the ones that ate open until 21:00. closed.

It was very homely

Very comfortable for a small family. Location is great if you driving a car. If got chance would like to stay two nights next time.

Good location to explore Takachiho Gorge. House was specious with full kitchen facility and even the massage chair! The owner is quiet but kind.

Staying at Kashi Besso Takachiho was one of the most surreal experiences I’ve had in Japan. I was the only guest in this large, multi-room villa—clearly designed for groups or families—and I’m genuinely grateful the host was willing to accommodate a solo traveller. The view from the property was absolutely gorgeous, and with a group of friends, I imagine this place could be a lot of fun—assuming you’re okay with a few compromises.

Close to Takachiho gorge. Lots of space and great view. Old but clean.

We booked the family room and it was actually a home, with a lot of space and multiple rooms, well equipped to cook, clean and comfortable, and we felt at home immediately. The location is nice as it's literally two minutes from the gorge entrance (by car). The man who did the check in was very welcoming.

The location is right at the start of the gorge walking trail near public car park space 3/4. Good space if you are travelling in group ( you get a whole house to yourself)

Great communication, and the owner was friendly and very accommodating. We had some questions about the check in time, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The location is great, about a 15 minute walk to the Gorge, and about 5 minutes drive to the town and supermarkets. There is also an amazing restaurant right next door. The accomodation comes with a parking space which is very helpful. We got the whole place to ourselves, and it was very spacious. Our stay was during the winter, and the accomodation includes a heater and air conditioning which made our stay very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen is well equipped and has good hot water and pressure. It was a wonderful experience!

House more than big enough for our family of 4. Spacious. Full facilities. Very close to the takachiho gorge.

We have the whole property to our own and it is very spacious. The entrance to Takachiho Gorge is right next to the property. The host is very kind.
