I had an amazing stay at this hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The atmosphere was welcoming, the facilities were always clean, and there was a great sense of community throughout my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean, and the location was ideal for getting around and exploring. Had a good mix of social vibes and space to relax when needed. “A hostel that felt homely.”

The family feel that the staff and guests created. I was initially reluctant to join because of the name, thinking it would be a mad house, but it isn’t. The staff are super accommodating (Taty, Ian and Matty to name a few) for your personal needs (I worked night shifts), so they would not do house keeping early on days I worked. I also left the hostel to try a different hostel, then came back after a week because I missed the relationships I had built here after only a few weeks. If you’re in Coogee and looking for a hostel where you can meet people and be close to eveything you need in Coogee, I would highly recommend Mad Monkey

“Simply the most easy way to start your new life in Sydney !”

This is simply the best hostel in the eastern suburb of Sydney. Staying in the appartment with the four bed mix dorms. What a pleasure. The space, how it look and the view is stunning. Also living one street ahead fo the beach is insane. Can't imagine it was this close on the map. One of the hostel where you feel like home, people are kind, staff is super and the mood in general of the hostal is really more than ok ! Rules are strict but it's what make the place unforgettable. Feel free to book there eyes closed. The area is so good also, melon head to the best smoothie, costi's is excellent and get sashimi do a 50% discount every night before closure at 8:30pm. The public transports are litterraly downstairs from the building and if you're too lazy to cook you have to know you living above a macca's ! Very surprised how clean is the common area and all the dorms. The houseekeeping staff do a super job all along the day. Big thank's to them. Is a very nice place if you lookinf for a travel buddy or if you look for work, lot of people stay here for more than weesk because the life here is excellet. Now enough word on my side, book yourself and room and thank you later ;)

Nice people working /staying there, friendly and down to earth. Amazing location by the beach for a sunrise swim and easy bus routes to anywhere else. The kitchen / reception / living room was cosy and there was free tea + coffee sachets. Pancake night was a handy dinner.

Newly renovated and now has a beach vibe which fits well with Coogee Beach. Also the location is exceptional which is one of the best things about staying here.

The location is perfect, in front of the beach, there are many bus lines at the door, shops and restaurants. The team is exceptional, I was very well received and they facilitated everything they could in my stay, I had no problem. Every day there was something special for socialisation among the guests, it was amazing. I’ll be back soon!

Great location, super comfy beds and great people staying. Loved that there were lots of digital nomads and a variety of ages and cultures. Everything was really clean and staff went out of their way to be kind. Wish I could have stayed longer!
