“Fantastic location, sadly though the property is old, not clean and outdated.”

The location was excellent. The staff were fantastic. The townhouse was not clean. The toilet and bathroom facilities were very old and outdated. The outside area was not clean, we had to clean it ourselves in order to use it. The outdoor furniture was wet and mouldy. The townhouse was full of cockroaches. The stairs were very unsafe. Minimal ventilation. Fans were broken. Beds were comfortable.

Area didn’t feel safe. Broken gate at front of the property. Windows didn’t lock. Horrible smell of damp and sewage. Couldn’t use garden because so over grown and open sewage. Cockroaches everywhere. Spiders everywhere. There was a spider birth in the bathroom. Dirty bathroom. Leaking sink that made the floor wet. Saw mice in the garden. No smoke alarms. Stove didn’t work so couldn’t cook any meals. Small gaps under all the walls to the floor so that’s why there is a pest problem. The whole place is needs a refurbish - they can’t quick fix these problems that the bad reviews complain about - do not stay here. Contacted the property owner many times about compensation for our issues during the stay and we have received nothing and no reply. All in all just AWFUL.

The beds were comfortable enough although there was no top sheets so was too hot for a doona but would have been more comfortable with a sheet over us

In Reviews we either go very positive or do not make one but on this occasion we feel compelled to be very clear. We are not a fussy group and accept the inner city brings its own challenges; however, this accommodation is definitely not suitable for young children and definitely not toddlers or babies. While an attempt has been made to minimise cockroach droppings they remain a constant issue. The back door has an opening at the bottom big enough to allow rodents in so we blocked that off. If this was 1/3 less price it would indicate the type of accommodation level it is and even then we would not recommend this place. The fans either do not work or do not work to their full range. Windows cannot be left open to allow a breeze through as there are no flyscreens. The stove is below standard for this type of accommodation and the hot water service inadequate for any more than 2 people. Several power points were at minimum dubious in the connection to the wall so a potential safety risk. Overall, ignore any 10 scores - do not book this place unless you want to accept low standard accommodation.

Some pretty good upsides to this place such as: 1. Was fairly close to all the places we wanted to go, being within walking distance. 2. Reasonably priced for the location on the map. 3. Housed 5 people quite easily and I can see it holding at least 8 ppl if people dont mind sharing beds. 4. Had every needed appliance available such as heaters, fans, hair dryers, washing machine, fridge, stove and vacuum cleaner. 5. Has a TV where the sofa bed was.

It was close enough to everything we wanted to see, was big enough for a group of us to comfortably fit and easy to check in and out off.

Excellent property and very convenient to USC activities. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm.
