The accomodation was perfect for our stay and near all the activities we wanted to do. We also enjoyed relaxing in the onside pub of an evening

“Amazing!”

My stay at the Potato Storage could not have been better. The apartment is simply very nice, and has all it needs - and everything worked. Kitchen is small but well equipped. Good separation of waste and so nice for a change that it comes with clear instructions - many hosts leave you to guess not realising that the separation is really different all over the world :) The location is adjacent to one of THE most amazing parts of Iceland - especially for mountaineers! But also if you are just there to visit Skaftafell or any of the other many amazing places out there, it's located ideally. Let me keep the best for the last: your hosts, Regina, Klaus and Styrmir are warm and helpful people - just ask them for help if you need it and they'll be happy to support! One piece of advice: weather in Iceland can vary from absolutely great to beyond horrible, and it certainly applies to this area. So bring appropriate warm and rain clothes and footwear. Iceland is just not sneaker country, unless you stick to your car and the bar - and then you'll miss the best of the country :)

This could be one of the best stays I had. The Potato Storage is run by a local family and I can tell they put a lot of thought and care into it. They even prepared a little booklet about the place with lovely photos and instructions. The studio apartment is very well taken care of, great aesthetics, great functionalities, everything is clean, organised and works well. For each studio you have your own parking slot right next to it. The studio is on the bottom of a snowy mountain, in between two glaciers and multiple attractions. From the window you can see the mountains in snow. Communication is excellent both online and offline. Regina is very nice, polite and welcoming, she personally welcomed us and sent us off. The personal touch made our stay even better.

“The potato storage”

The accommodation has everything you might want. It was nice they had a few condiments so we only had to buy the main ingredients for meal times. Accommodation is 10 minutes away from the artic adventure base camp so perfect for people wanting to get out and see some of icelands glaciers etc....

The location is remote which is exactly what we want for a few days - away from cities and be close to nature. Sitting by the window, having a cup of tea and watching the mountain and glacier over there, is such a special feeling.

“Great stay in a beautiful location”

Our hosts were fantastic. We were late arriving due to weather, and other guests were late leaving due to weather, and they were flexible and helpful. The location is brilliant. We saw the aurora three nights out of four. It's so quiet and peaceful, but also close to the glacier and the ring road. The property is nicely decorated and well-equipped for cooking. It was perfectly clean.

We were absolutely fascinated by the beauty of the potato storage. We truly enjoyed our stay in this cozy, spotless, beautifully designed, and well-equipped home. We’ll always remember the stunning views at sunrise, sunset, and every moment in between. This is really a serene little piece of heaven in close proximity to svartifoss falls and the glaciers!

Perfect location, a few km from gas station and convienient store and far enough from light pollution to get an awesome northern light show. Regina and klaus are so nice, taking time to explain everything. The apartment is perfectly clean and has all equipment needed to feel like home. 100% i will come again if I travel again in iceland.

Beautiful room with great facilities and tranquil location. The place is very cosy and well equipped, clean and spacious. The hosts are very sweet and welcoming. Definitely recommend! We also had a snowstorm come in and the hosts handled it great and cleaned the driveway for us to get out.
