I stayed at Motel Europa in an emergency situation while traveling from Denmark to Poland after my car broke down and I had to wait for a tow truck. The check-in process was smooth, and I was probably the only guest there. The room itself was simple and basic, but fine for a short rest, which was all I needed. Unfortunately, the service left a very negative impression. I had a severe headache and asked if they had any painkillers. I was told coldly to go to a pharmacy — it was Sunday, I had no car, and I was in an unfamiliar area, so this response was disappointing and unhelpful. The next day I asked if I could extend my stay for a few hours since I was still waiting for the tow truck driver. Even though the hotel was empty, I was told I had to leave exactly at 11 a.m. according to the rules. I then asked if I could sit somewhere in the lobby or restaurant area to wait until around 4 p.m. and was told that if I wanted to stay, I had to pay for another full night. The restaurant didn’t open until 5 p.m., so I ended up walking about 30 minutes to a Burger King just to have somewhere to wait. I understand that places have rules, but in an emergency situation I expected at least a little understanding or kindness. Instead, the attitude felt cold and inflexible. Because of this experience, I can’t recommend this place — not because of the room itself, but because of the lack of basic hospitality and empathy.
