Location is good

This was one of the best days I've had in a very long time, I don't think many tourists visit Suriyakanda, and they definitely should, although the completely local feel to the area was one of its biggest draws. I had originally booked to stay at SkyDeck but they cancelled my booking as I was not willing to pay in advance. This was a blessing in disguise as Simply Heaven blew SkyDeck out the water, the house is stunning, with satellite TV (I was surprisingly able to watch the Chelsea game) and what looks like a brand new bathroom. But the property is one thing, the family that owns it is the real gem! Thamal is one of the purest human beings I've had the pleasure of meeting, the fact that he welcomed my taxi driver into his home for the night is testament to the kind of man he is. He went above and beyond to make my stay incredible, he took me to a secret waterfall, cooked me a delicious dinner (ask for the spicy option if you dare), even allowing me to take a pot of the heavenly chilli paste made by his parents for my onward journey. We had a lovely bonfire at the end of the evening, but importantly I always felt I had my privacy should I need it. He thought of everything, texted me a week before to make sure everything was in order, sent me the WiFi password in advance etc. I will definitely be coming back, not just because I had an amazing time, but because I have made a friend for life! Thamal wants to expand this property over three floors and add a swimming pool and I can't wait to keep visiting year after year to help him realise his dream ❤️
