“Great location in this traditional inn”

We had a friendly welcome and help carrying bags upstairs. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice view over the harbour. The cooking smells on the stairs did not get to the room. Breakfast was fine (not gourmet). Great location for walking into town or onto the cliffs.

The hotel’s location is convenient for visiting Dunnottar Castle and exploring Stonehaven, but the lack of warmth, cleanliness issues, maintenance problems, and generally unwelcoming atmosphere meant that our stay fell well below expectations.

The location is simply beautiful. The front bar is pleasant with nice people. The dinner menu was good, as was the breakfast. The view from my room was delightful. The appointments and decor are tasteful and stylish. The staff here are so helpful and lovely that it really made the stay all the more special. I especially appreciated the giant buff Scotsman who personally served us breakfast. I was charmed. I'll never forget him!

Everything about our two night stay was brilliant. We had a comfortable, cosy room with a marvellous view across Stonehaven harbour. Bar meals were tasty, all the staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed and cheery. There was excellent variety in the Continental Breakfast and the person who ran the breakfast room was especially helpful and welcoming. He made great coffee! The stairs to the bedrooms were steep but they provided a good work out! Congrats to all.

Stunning location, had such a good nights sleep, after a delicious meal in the restaurant. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic location on the bay, comfy, clean room. Nice bar and restaurant, food was good. Breakfast not starting untill 8am was a bit late for working people and food was a bit limited, only white bread, croissants didn't seem fresh - but ok.
