Hotel Ristorante Mariano is located in the small town of Stigliano within the province of Matera. The hotel has spacious rooms and comfortable beds. My room had a beautiful view on the landscape towards the south. The restaurant offers delicious food. Unfortunately I only stayed one night. It is an excellent place to explore the surrounding region.

Lovely hotel, well maintained and clean accommodation in mountain town. Staff are very helpful and the food on restaurant was great. Well worth exploring the many street art murals in the town.

The room was packed full of amenities including a fridge and a lot of complimentary toiletries. The staff were welcoming and generous. Highly recommend!

“Hotel In Stigliano.”

Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Good lighting. Fantastic panoramic view. Good restaurant and good breakfast. Hotel has a very good wine selection. We stayed in May 2025. Very helpful friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Very good value for money for both the hotel and restaurant.

“Great location for motorcycle trip, staff are great”

The staff are all friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant twice and both times were excellent. Recommend the tomahawk steak, pasta and bruschetta. Ideal parking for motorcycles behind secure gate. Espresso in the hotel cafe is perfect.

Staff really great, seemed like a family run business. Room very clean. Breakfast great and ate at the restaurant which was also very good. Free gift was given to us when we left. A good location if visiting Craco.

“Excellent hotel !”

All the staff in the hotel was absolutely lovely, helpful and welcoming. The bedroom was immaculate, bed comfortable, excellent wifi. Great buffet breakfast as well. We decided to eat in the evening at the restaurant and we had very good pizzas and cakes for dessert. Prices for restaurant reasonable. With no hesitation, recommends this hotel.

“Fabulous one night stopover on motorbike tour of Italy, highly recommend”

Very large, quiet & well appointed room with large bathroom (good shower), also great air conditioning & spotlessly clean. Giuseppe couldn’t have been more accommodating, opening the walled garden area to securely park our motorbikes & offering us drinks on arrival. The outside restaurant was surprisingly busy with locals for a Tuesday night but we were given a table straight away & enjoyed a fabulous meal with attentive service. We also enjoyed a walk around the town taking in the artwork & statues.

The manager was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. For dinner, you can eat at Ristorante Mariano. The prices are more than reasonable and the food is good. In the village, there are not many shops but you can find art on several occasions. Before leaving we even got a little present from the owner

Located in a charming town, close to the centre and next to beautiful parkland and walking tracks. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and treated like family. Special mention to Giuseppe who welcomed us with kindness.
