Set at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, the historical Weltevreden Estate offers elegant accommodation and a restaurant. Stellenbosch city centre is about 5 km away. Featuring original Cape Dutch architecture and a thatched roof, the rooms offer tea-and-coffee-making facilities and air-conditioning. The executive apartment features an original four-poster bed, previously owned by Simon van der Stel. The apartment also offers a formal lounge and dining area. The original farm house and rooms are lovely they are clean and well appointed. The staff are helpful and have the right energy, breakfast was delicious. - However the estate itself is incredibly strange and eerie. Something feels very off and creepy about the estate.

“Beautiful characterful building, needs a refresh”
The property is gorgeous, we loved the old characteristics of the building and the thatched roof. We really felt relaxed and could unwind after lots of travel. It’s close by to stellenbosch town centre and the staff were lovely. The breakfast was excellent too.

We had a very nice stay at Weltevreden Estate. Even though the check-in was a bit messy at first, the team did everything they could to make us feel at home, and we truly appreciated their effort. They were very open and honest in their communication, which meant a lot to us. We also really enjoyed the dinner and wine – such a lovely experience! The room was very comfortable, and the estate itself is absolutely beautiful, especially for events. We would definitely love to come back again.

“Perfect Family Escape on a Beautiful Vineyard”
Our little family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Weltevreden. The setting is gorgeous and super secure, and the staff were an absolute highlight — so warm and welcoming, always ensuring we were comfortable and happy. Staying on the vineyard was a real treat, especially with the complimentary wine tasting — made traveling with our 7-month-old completely stress-free! The Bertha wine was excellent, and the food was delicious. The kitchenette with a fridge was such a luxurious convenience, and the whole experience felt like a peaceful, relaxing escape. We hope it keeps its charm, as we would love to go back already!
