Surrounded by nature and vineyards, Skilpadvlei Wine Farm in Stellenbosch features a terrace with outdoor pool, a farm-style restaurant and conference and banquet facilities. “Dissatisfied”
Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. The overall standard of the unit showed a clear lack of attention to detail — it was evident that no proper inspection or oversight is being done before guests arrive. Our aircon was out of order and not in working condition, it made an awful sound and we had to switch it off at the main board which switched off all the plugs. The braai was not cleaned, there was an old bottle of soap left behind the bath, and the towels provided were worn and well past their best. These are basic housekeeping standards that should be non-negotiable. The restaurant, which we had previously enjoyed, also seems to have declined significantly — it feels like it has taken a step backwards rather than keeping up with guest expectations. Overall, this was not a great experience. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and re-introduces proper quality control, because the potential is there — it just needs someone to care enough to maintain it.

The outdated and 90's decor, the stale smell of smoke(tabacco). The ABSOLUTE lack of hot water to shower, the mattress that was so worn through. Just awful
