Overview
Thermae Boetfort is a 400-year old castle domain which offers elegant yet rustic rooms, both inside (superior & deluxe) as well as outside (classic) of the castle domain. Rooms come with free Wi-Fi and for an additional fee you can use extensive wellness facilities which includes saunas, spa baths and an outdoor pool. Flat-screen cable TV and tea and coffee making facilities are provided as standard in the rooms at Thermae Boetfort Hotel. They also include a bathroom with a bath or a shower and a separate toilet. At the restaurant guests can enjoy modern international cuisine in the grand dining room which has an open fire or on the terrace in warmer months. The drinks menu includes a range of wines and cocktails as well as home-brewed beer. In a separate building located 200 metres from the hotel, there are two conference rooms which can be used for meetings, incentives or other events. A large free car park is available for guests to use. The hotel is situated 8 km from Brussels Airport. Boetfort Hotel is less than 5 minutes’ drive from Brabantse Golf. The centre of Mechelen is a 15-minute car journey away whilst Brussels is a 20-minute drive away.

We liked the spa itself, it was nice. We liked that from the spa could go bathrobes on in the restaurant and eat and drink. The room in another house was clean and nice.

“There are guests here with such poor manners that they throw lit cigarettes toward another guest’s h”
The sauna itself was very nice, but my stay was seriously ruined by a safety incident and the hotel’s poor response. At around 23:00, after using the sauna, I was walking toward the reception/exit area when a lit cigarette was thrown from above. It narrowly missed me. This was dangerous and very upsetting. I reported the incident to the hotel. The staff told me to email the hotel and wait for a response, so I did. However, I have still not received any reply. A customer service staff member also called me, but the response was very disappointing. Instead of showing proper concern or explaining what action would be taken, they mainly asked me, “What do you expect from us?” I felt dismissed and not taken seriously. The person who threw the cigarette was still able to use and enjoy the sauna the next day. When I spoke to that person, the response was basically only “sorry, and that’s it?” Because of this, I no longer felt safe using the sauna. The hotel did not offer any meaningful solution, reassurance, discount, or compensation. More importantly, they failed to make me feel safe as a guest after a dangerous incident on their premises. What started as a pleasant sauna experience became a very uncomfortable and upsetting stay. The hotel’s handling of the situation was unacceptable.

“Amazing Spa”
The spa is our absolute favourite, its facilities are absolutely fantastic and the setting is stunning. The restaurant in the castle is really well appointed in terms of decor, and the choice of food and portion sizes were both very good. We were also really happy with our room and its proximity to the spa and restaurant.

“Nice little room at a very good price.”
We were in the extension part of the hotel. A little less convenient and connected than the main hotel being at the opposite end of a large car park and across a road. That said a 5 minute walk. The room was very nicely done. Very good price. And of course easy access to the spa.

“Pleasant stay, the spa experience in particular made it worth it”
We had a really lovely and relaxing stay at this hotel and spa. The wellness area is beautiful, clean, and very peaceful, exactly what we needed to unwind. The spa facilities are well-maintained, and the whole atmosphere makes it easy to switch off and relax. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options. It felt like a great start to the day. The bed was also extremely comfortable, and we slept very well overall.
