A very lovely place in the middle of pristine nature and a most helpful and friendly host. The breakfast is an assortment of homemade food that shows you a very different, delicious side to Greek food culture. We had such a lovely time here!

Amazing hospitality from Mr. Pantelis, who is very knowledgeable about the area, forest paths and activities all around, and always ready to help. The breakfast is simply unparalleled, with homemade delicacies. Rooms spotlessly clean, the only noise one can hear is the singing birds!

It was a unique experience, travel back in time en soo close to nature (waterfall, forest , activities )

“Lovely guesthouse close to nature”

We spent a few days here in April and regretted we couldn't stay longer. We stayed in the self contained unit which has a kitchenette (basic, but perfectly sufficient, and there is a communal kitchen upstairs, too). The place was very clean, spacious and decorated with love to detail. Very comfortable bed! The nights in April can be chilly, so we were glad the house has reliable heating, it was quite cosy. There is also a garden and listening to all the birds around us was pure bliss: hoopoes, nightingales, scops owls, to name just a few - we loved it. The host, who is also fluent in German, was very welcoming and friendly and patiently explained lots of sights in the area to us - we felt very well taken care of. Thanks again for arranging the boat tour, too - it was an unforgettable experience! The location in Stavroupoli is perfect as it is close to the village (shops are within walkable distance), it is quiet and there is ample space to park the car. We cannot recommend this place enough and hope we will be able to return one day.

I initially looked at staying in the town of Xanthi for this trip but Savroupoli was a much better choice. The breakfast included locally made jams, cheese and cold meats served by friendly staff in an attentive way.

Breakfast prepared by the owner was one of the highlights of the stay. All used products were either home made/baked or coming from the local village and all natural. Beds were comfortable and the heating (during cold nights) was also very satisfactory. The owner and his wife are very nice, kind and hospitable people and are willing to get out of their way to please the guests staying at the property.

“A great place to stay and explore!”

Beautiful old stone house in a peaceful green location. Rich and tasteful breakfast is served at a terrace in the garden. You can enjoy home-made butter, cheese, eggs and variety of marmalades while listening to the birds' songs. The host is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the region. Gave us lots of helpful and valuable insights about the area's wildlife, trails and activities. We had only one night's sleep over on our way to the seaside, wish it was more... at least we made it to a panoramic viewpoint over the magnificent meanders of river Nestos and spotted some wild horses on our way :) Thank you! We will definitely be back!

Perfect, no other way to describe it. Massive house, all catered for and super close to all attractions. Super serene. Gentleman who owns it is a legend. Super involved in the community, knows everything about the natural attractions and was so friendly and willing to help us have the best time possible. We are definatelty coming again and for a few weeks next time!!!!
