The hotel is an old gem from the 1920s. beautiful building with a lot of history the receptionist told us about. It is within walking distance of the Dali Museum, for which we visetet the town.

Location is perfect! Early in the morning you can go to the pier and watch beautiful sunrise You can easily walk around downtown during the day. I enjoyed running along the beach trail in the evening, the views of the city in the night are fascinating. There is a Sunrunner bus stop right at the corner that brings you to the St Pete Beach in 30 min for $2.25, Publix grocery store - in 5 min walk. I could not find any comparable location at this price. So we really enjoyed our stay at Ponce and would probably return there again

The staff were amazing. The first night we were there, a woman with 2 kids was making a lot of noise. It wasn't the kids but the lady just kept shouting at them. I informed 'Morgan' who was on the front desk and he immediately went up and told her that guests had been complaining and she quietened down. Was so appreciative of that as a nosy neighbor in a hotel is not a pleasant experience. The hotel is very well situated in the downtown area and the room was great. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit rustic but the shower pressure was amazing which I always find important.

Great location and great value for money. But elevator was out of service and in the evening elevator maintenance technicians triggered a smoke alarm and the hotel was evacuated until the fire brigade gave the all clear. The elevator was still out of service in the morning. We also saw cockroaches, one in the lobby and one in our bathroom.

The bed was soft. The people working there seemed nice. The elevator worked. Room was big and had several windows. AC worked.

“Terrible!”

It was the worst hotel visit I ever experienced! The internet, TV & phones were down... the water was ice cold in the shower saying the boiler was down,,,, the bed was hard & uncomfortable... the furniture & draperies were ragged even having holes in them. They had a mini fridge the size of a box. The decor was not historic retro as expected, as it had an old, faded bedspread & armrests falling off the futon. I stayed at the Ponce De Leon many years ago... I had a good stay & enjoyed the location... so I thought II would try them again. They overcharged me for the 1st night & I had to cancel the 2nd & 3rd night forcing me to scurry & find another hotel. I'm still trying to get a partial refund! They must renovate...get new beds & update decor or they lose guests & destroy their reputation & hotel! There is still hope to invest & improve!
