My second visit to this hotel and this stay was even better than my stay in May 2025. Very friendly welcome, lovely clean, newly refurbished room, the addition of the air conditioning unit certainly made a difference to keep the room cooler without having the windows open and welcoming in the little midges that can appear due to the closeness of the lake. The lakefront location is, of course the highlight. The views are stunning and whilst it is a 20 minute uphill walk to the rail station, if you are using the lake boats then it is literally a 2 minute walk from boat to hotel room. Breakfast was lovely and the free travel pass you are given when you arrive means you can catch the hourly bus from outside the hotel up to Spiez station as well as other local buses in the area.

The hotel is in a great location right next to the river, with the boat pier directly in front of the property. It is very convenient for catching a boat, especially at sunset. Bus 61 stops just around the corner, and it takes only 7 minutes to reach Spiez train station. If you arrive from the station, the hotel is also within an easy 16-minute walk. Spiez Castle is only a 5-minute walk away and offers beautiful views of the entire town. The staff are very kind, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our balcony had a wonderful lake view, which was the highlight of our stay. This hotel is a great choice for a relaxing vacation.

“A lovely boutique hotel and pizzeria by the lake”

The hotel and pizzeria are superbly located on the lakeside. My room had a lakeview. The breakfast buffet was excellent and varied. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They accommodated the fact that I am lactose intolerant and gave me soy milk instead which was not in the buffet. They also sent very quickly a handyman when my mobile charger got stuck in the plug. The pizzeria in the hotel is excellent, real italian pizza and they also provide gluten free pizzas.

The property was right on the waterfront with beautiful views over the marina and lake. Really close to some lovely castle grounds. Nice room with lovely staff.

View from the breakfast area was unbeatable! It was also great that breakfast was included as that is a rarity nowadays. There is a bus stop right outside which goes to the train station and the hotel itself is in a great location right next to the lake and castle.
