Situated in the centre of mining village Špania Dolina, Penzion Klopacka is housed in the historic miner’s building dating back from 15th century. It offers an on-site museum of traditional Slovak lace craft, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi. The Penzion Klopacka’s restaurant is designed in traditional Slovak folk style. It serves Slovak cuisine and features a fireplace and wooden furnishings. In the summer, a covered gazebo with fireplace and a furnished terrace invite guests to relax. All rooms come either with a private or a shared bathroom. Some of them comprise a balcony and a living room. Front Desk opening hours are the same as restaurant opening hours. Biking, hiking and skiing opportunities can be found in the vicinity The town of Banská Bystrica is 12 km away. Šachtička Ski Centre can be reached within 12 km, while Donovaly Ski Centre is 28 km from the Penzion Klopacka.

Tasty breakfast (scrambled eggs with onion and vegetables). Very helpful staff (we arrived late but it was no problem for check-in, I asked for earlier breakfast than normally - no problem).

“Comfort, cleaniess, fair conditions, fair prices, excellent air quality (out of heating season!)”
No any luxorious feature but you get everything what you need. Silence, cleaniness, charmant and really kind, helpful personnel, sufficient breakfast (the offer consists of three menu options +tee or caffe), resto at the terrace, excellent starting point for nearby excursions. Even for those who prefer just walking this is an excellent place. Prices are fair, rather favorable.

“Very relaxing setting on a former mining site”
Charming and cozy little pension for a few tenants. There is indeed the mining atmosphere that has historically marked the place. The surrounding houses alone are worth the detour. Possibility to climb up to have a very beautiful view of the valley and the hamlet of Spania Dolina. Very comfortable room and hearty breakfasts. Located 15 minutes by car from Banska Bystrisca and on the road of Cesta Barboska.
