Really nice affordable place to stay in Soufrière. You can find everything you need to cook in the kitchen, the common area is spacious and very comfortable and there are some weights and yoga equipment available downstairs if you want to workout. It’s located in a beautiful quiet area, less than 15 minutes walk from the beach. The perfect place for travelers looking for a budget friendly accommodation!

This is a well set up, self catering guest house accommodation. It is an ideal base for sightseeing in this area of Dominica - or as I was using it, as a base for diving/kayaking activities down at the sea front. My room was clean and comfortable and the shower worked well. The window screens were intact (a must for someone who attracts mosquitoes) and the windows themselves could be fully closed off if required. I was pleased not to have air conditioning and preferred the fan provided. The kitchen is also clean, a big cooking range with pans and utensils, crockery and storage. The lounge/dining area is great for communal eating and hammocks on the verandah's for solitary chilling. Take note of the directions provided to get to the property or Google Maps will send you off in entirely the wrong direction. When Google tells you to turn right look for prudently provisioned sign on the roadside, that says Soufriere Guest House is actually straight on, and follow that instead!

Beautifully located and easy to reach by the local minivans. Lovely building, clean with good wifi and a kitchen to use if needed. Good spaces to relax and do nothing or well placed to walk to the bay front or the local hiking trails.

This is a great place to spend one or several nights in Dominica. House is super clean (lot of staff !), you have a shared kitchen. I also appreciate that they keep updates on the Waitukubuli Trail (If interested : please read below). If you like walking i recommand doing a loop from the guest house to scotts head then trail 1 back to the guest house. You can also walk to a small natural sulfur waterfall (take the river path and don't bother going to the further spot you can walk to).

Very nice guest house in the middle of the jungle. Next to soufrière and the Waitukubuli trail. To visit especially while dive fest in Soufrière !

I enjoyed my stay at Soufriere Guesthouse very much. It is located in a quiet area, surrounded by nature in the little village Soufriere, that is easily accessible by a 20 minutes bus drive from Roseau. The staff is very friendly and helpful with everything. I stayed in a girls dorm and was pleaseantly surprised how spacious it was, equipped with en-suite bathroom, plenty of fans to keep cool/protect agains mosquitoes. The common area and kitchen are also spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need. I can highly recommend this accommodation! :)

the day I arrived, there was no electricity but they have a backup for the wifi so it may happen that you dont have electricity but never wifi. I liked all the tables and chair on the big balcony, i liked the very big bed of the dorms, the nice kitchen and the atmosphere.

Great facilities and kitchen equipment was good. Large room with good shower. Suited our needs perfectly. Great to watch bats flying at night. Good to chat to other travellers too.

Clean and cozy and spacious place in the beautiful nature, kitchen to use, other hikers and guests to make a nice conversation with. The owner Jon is an absolute gem, he knows all about the Waitukubuli national trail and he is willing to share the knowledge.

“Bedbugs and rude host”

I arrived at the guest house on New Year's Eve and was destroyed by bedbugs on the first night. When I approached one of the hosts the next day to request a room change he was extremely dismissive and said they must be sandflies. I had booked a 10-day stay and in all that time nothing was done to help me solve the issue. One of the hosts even laughed in my face repeatedly when I tried to request help to fix the problem. After I contacted Booking.com who said they recommended the host to partially refund me, they still refused any refund so I could move somewhere else or to move me to another room. They finally "investigated" and found nothing (not surprisingly). I was travelling with a group of 8 people and none of them had similar bites (except coincidentally two of them who got bitten the one night they stayed in my room at the guesthouse as their accommodation elsewhere wasn't yet available). I finally left before my stay was over because the itching from bedbugs is truly maddening and doesn't let you sleep despite taking multiple medications to stop it. And when I got back home I checked with an infectious disease specialist who said the diagnosis was unmistakably bedbugs. It's truly a pity because the whole holiday was ruined and it's an issue that could have been addressed relatively easily. Other less important things: 1. There was a common kitchen that was nice for cooking yourself a meal and socializing - too bad it was often quite dirty as cleaning was almost entirely left to guests. 2. The rooms are not cleaned during the stay (at least not in 10 days as was the case for me and other friends that also stay there). Not sure if they ever provide clean sheets/towels - I didn't ask because obviously the hosts didn't seem concerned with guests wellbeing.

“Great value for the money, lovely& well run guesthouse”

This is a lovely guesthouse, which has both individual rooms and hostel-like ones. Common spaces are spacious and well thought, no matter how many people are staying, there is room for all. Good organisation of their use, given high volume of guests. Well run, the guesthouse provides all amenities of Western lifestyle, while being situated in a seashore village in Dominika, where these are not the usual standards.
