Overview
Dating back to 1640, this 9th generation family-run hotel is Norway’s oldest. The hotel is surrounded by a romantic garden in the idyllic village of Svolvorn. It offers elegant rooms and beautiful views of Lustrafjord and its mountains. Walaker Hotel’s unique rooms create an old-world charm with their antique furniture, high ceilings and decorative curtains. The stylish bathrooms include a bathtub or shower, toilets and free bath products. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. A breakfast buffet is served daily and includes a mix of local products like homemade cheese, fruit juices, jams and other treats. In the evening, a 4-course menu of Norwegian dishes is served at Walaker’s Restaurant, which overlooks the fjord. In summer, afternoon coffee can be enjoyed in the garden. Guests wishing to explore the Sognefjord region can borrow bicycles at Hotel Walaker or go hiking on the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. The 12th-century Urnes Stave Church is a 30-minute ferry ride away. Other popular activities include kayaking, fishing and boat cruises on the Nærøyfjord.

“A beautiful, romantic place to enjoy your holiday.”
The hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.

Excellent location by the Fjord in a local part of the Sognefjord with (relatively) good weather. Good breakfast. Also good dinner. Very nice gardens and other areas (the patio, the gallery, etc) - nice place to "chill out" Very clean, well maintained. Friendly and personal staff (9th generation owners...), interesting history. Staff seems very content. Have good parking and plenty EV-charging.

“When you travelling to Norway you definitely must visit this magic place.”
Beautiful place with magic spirit. When you travelling to Norway you definitely must visit this hotel!! Unforgettable experience. Everything was perfect, the buildings, the gallery, the view and also breakfast - eggs benedict - delicious! We had a possibility to listen piano concert performed by the Owner Mr. Walaker - it was like in a dream.
