great place to stay near Seoraksan. very helpful and accomodating host had very nice kimchi fried rice for dinner!! rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfy

Locatie near the park

I had a wonderful stay at the red house, the owners were so lovely! The breakfast was excellent, and my bed was very comfy. The location was also great, it’s a short walk to the main park entrance, or a bus, which comes every 15 mins. There is also a skywalk about a 5-10 minute walk away with beautiful views of the mountains on the skyline at sunset, and there was a light display on the river just after sunset while I was there. The owner was so helpful with hiking recommendations for the open hikes in the park. I will be back!

The best travel experience I've had in a while. A great location just a short distance from Seoraksan National Park, with a store within walking distance. Comfortable rooms. But the best part was the staff. The owner helped us book a hiking trail, and his wife made us breakfast and lunch, which were delicious.

The location is perfect. Close to Seoraksan park entrance, so you can start hiking whenever you want. The staff is also very friendly and gave great hiking tips. Price is also very affordable.

I would rate more than 10/10 if I could!! This place is absolutely lovely & I will definitely be back again. The room is great, the view & location are amazing, and the family who own/run the hostel are so lovely and kind and friendly - thank you for being so welcoming, I loved meeting you! Also the home-cooked breakfast is absolutely delicious every day, she is an amazing chef!

Nice location, staff and rooms

“Lovely staff, great location”

The staff and family were lovely, super friendly and helpful - explaining all the hostel facilities, giving information about the trails, the village and the park! They really made the stay for me. The dorm was huge and for most of my stay I had the room to myself. The breakfast was nice and I also had some meals in the evening which were delicious! The location is ~25 mins walk to the park entrance but there’s also a bus which takes <5 mins

Host is extremely nice and kind family. Highly recommended to stay here. Good location too close proximity to Seoraksan. This is the best accommodation we stayed over the years. Would definitely stay again if have another chance to visit Sokcho.

We felt very welcome at The Red House. The room was clean and comfortable. Although it is only one street away from the main road it was lovely and quiet. The family who run the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. During a busy Autumn weekend, being able to walk to and from the National Park, past the long traffic jams, was a definite advantage.

I booked the Red House because of how close it is to the park. It was about 5 minutes with the bus (when there’s no traffic, early morning/late evening) and 35ish minutes walking. The homestay hosts were incredibly kind, the room was simple. I had some issues with my roommate the first night, but that just is a risk when going for dormitories.

Such friendly hosts and have really good advice about walks in the past. Let us do some washing as well :)

This place it great! It is close to the national park, the rooms are big, well heated and have heated floors and the people are super friendly and proactively helpful :)
