This is a perfect location and base from which to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Sognefjord, as well as the Jotunheimen and Jostedalsbreen National Parks. The hotel is centrally located in Sogndal, yet in a quiet spot. The room was tidy, spacious enough and fitted with a very comfortable bed for a restful night’s sleep; the bathroom was also nice and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the generous breakfast offers everything you need for a good start to the day. Parking is well organised, and you can easily pay for the next day in the evening. Yes, it’s a bit old-fashioned with the Chesterfield armchairs and so on, but who cares – you get everything you need for a restful night’s sleep and a good start to the day, cleanliness, nice staff, a perfect stay.

“Good value for money with very friendly staff”

Good classic Best Western designed rooms. Our room looked like recently renovated and was very clean. The check-in staff was very friendly and helpful. At the checkout we did ask for help, as the mountain pass we wanted to use to drive to Lom was just closed in the morning. The owner suggested a route which was one hour shorter than the one I wanted to take.

Old world feel with big leather couches and large waiting room was great. Feel and look of teh place was better than I expected. Room was large and very quiet. They opened breakfast very early so people could get a breakfast before the boat left for Oslo which was really helpful.

Very clean and very comfortable hotel. Older style but suited us fine. Perfect location for walking round Sogndal and exploring further afield. Staff absolutely lovely especially Lynn who looked after us really well and was just delightful. Breakfast fabulous.

“Homely comforts”

We loved the older feel to this hotel and it makes such a change from the grey minimal look that is global now. It reminded me of when I was young ! The rooms are large enough to have two large old leather armchairs which were so so comfy. The staff were incredibly accomodating. The price is a little higher than normal but includes breakfast and despite having a very early staff they provided a packed breakfast for us to take. A welcome change.

The hotel was located in the middle of the village and all the attractions were within walking distance. Hotel breakfast was great. If you came by a car BE CAREFUL AS THE HOTEL PARKING PLACE BELONGS TO THE LOCAL KOMMUNE. So you have to pay for the car park from 8AM to 5PM to a parking machine. For electric car driver, the closest car charge was at the local mall.
