The hotel is wonderful, full of character and beautifully decorated. The views over the fiords and mountains are amazing. Breakfast was delicious and our host was very kind and helpful. Wanted to stay longer and be able to read all the interesting books telling us the history of the farm and the area.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful, it was definitely the most authentic and charming place of all that we visited in Norway. Mara is the best host you could imagine,she made us feel like at home. The interior design she created is beautiful, authentic and you can see she put her soul into it. Breakfast is prepared by herself and it's delicious, especially the carrot cake ! If you hesite to book because of the shared bathroom it's really not a problem. There are very nice bath robes prepared for guests which make the visit to the bathroom nice. There are just a few rooms in total which make the hotel feel very cozy

“Charming hotel with beautiful fjord view”

We had a very nice and special stay. The view was stunning, rooms were charming and we enjoyed delicious home made breakfast. We met the host who was very welcoming and accommodating, even if we checked in later than planned. We also enjoyed a nice little hike to the Wittgenstein house, just half an hour walk from the hotel. The hotel was just what we were aiming for, and also great value for money.

“A historical adventure!”

A wonderful historic house amongst beautiful surroundings. The owner was very passionate about the history of this significant location, which is nicely conveyed with plenty of information available to guests. I stayed in Wittgenstein's room, which was full of charm. It was almost like travelling back in time, and yet with modern conveniences like well functioning wifi and a new bathroom with a good shower. Our host laid out a lovely buffet for breakfast and was very accommodating.

Absolutely loved our time here! Mara was a wonderful host and great to talk to and very happy to help. It was home from home. The farmhouse is beautiful and the kitchen extremely well equipped. We were the only guests for the 2 nights. The sun room was perfect for relaxing after a day’s exploring. Highly, highly recommend!

Beautiful decor guest house with four rooms. Wonderfully equipped communal kitchen and restaurant-like dining room. Immaculate bathrooms and loved included bathrobe. Reading room/balcony/veranda were stunning. Lovely host showed us round and recommended local attractions.

Nice peaceful place to stay with a beautiful view. Room has a nice chair to sit in and the location is perfect for exploring the gorgeous area. Host is friendly and gave me some good advice. Cabbage works against ankle issues. Who knew 😉. Having a big shared kitchen is handy as no restaurants in the area were open when I visited. Shared bathroom was not an issue as there was only one other guest staying. Happily endorse this place.

Fantastic host! Very clean and cozy. Nice kitchen to prepare food. Beatiful view from rooms. Amazing hiking trips with stunning scenery very close by. Ask Mara the host to point you to some hidden gems.

Really beautifully renovated but still maintaining the great old feeling. Clean and nice areas and rooms. Especially well equipped kitchen. Plenty of toilets for every guest. Very nice renovated shower rooms. Several nice common rooms and balcony and terrace to spend time. Host was very very nice and friendly and helped me to dry my wet motorist’s clothes.

We had a wonderful stay at Eide Gard. Mara is a very welcoming and kind host. The view from the room was amazing. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. A great place to stay and discover Skjolden's surroundings!
