“My favourite hostel in the Philippines!”

The staff are so friendly and accommodating here! They immediately send you recommendations and their contact information on Whatsapp. They also organize transfers, trikes, and activities for you. The social events are great, and are different every night. Not really a party hostel, but a social hostel, which is very nice! Also, the food at the restaurant is great!

It’s well located, you are a 5 minute walk from Tubod beach and a short motorbike ride from other restaurants. Port pick up and drop off was arranged through the hotel, as was the motorbike rental. Reception pointed us to Cocogrove Hotel to arrange the Apo Island trip we wanted and this is a must do, it was the highlight of our time in Siquijor! The room was clean and an okay size. A hairdryer was available from reception and the room had a fridge. In the hallway was a water fountain which gave cold water and also boiling water. The WiFi also worked well.

It was right on the sea. They made good cheap food. You could walk into town. Don’t have a fridge but let them you put your things in there fridge. Friendly

We had a wonderful stay at Tagbalayon lodging house. We slept in the 16pp dorm. It was very quiet (you had to store your backpack outside of the dorm) and you still had a lot of privacy. Clean beds, good lockers, clean bathroom and shower. The food was really good and affordable too. Ghe people working there were very friendly and helpful. The family dinner on Tuesday was also very good (and free). We enjoyed it very much, would definitely come again!

“Best hostel in Siquijor”

The location seems out of the way but i found it perfect as no matter where you stay you need a motorbike. It’s located next to places to eat and convenience stores and a 5min walk from a really good beach. It was so clean, the beds were so comfy and everything was perfect! Wished i stayed longuer !

This was my favourite hostel so far in the Philippines, great staff, excellent food breakfast lunch and dinner (great value too), clean dark and quiet rooms, with a nice chill social vibe. Would 100% recommend

Really nice comfortable hostel. Big dorm rooms but the beds are comfortable and private. Nice chill area above the restaurant too. The staff were so welcoming on arrival and helpful.

I stayed there 7 nights and staffs are so kind and very helpful(espically Berna).The location is nice and nearby Tubod beach.Even though there is not many restaurant options around,their restaurant is good enough.The rooms and bathrooms are in good conditions.They have free water refill 24/7.The common area is wide and has 2 hammock.

“Well-Kept and Vibrant Place for Socializing”

The place is clean, the amenities work well, and the rooms are well ventilated. The staff are friendly, especially Berna, who is very helpful and lovely. At check-in, they welcome every guest with a welcome drink and a hot towel, which is something I have usually only seen in hotels. In addition, every Monday they offer a free buffet dinner for guests, which is a very nice touch. I have stayed in many hostels, and it is rare to see something like this. The location is also decent, as it is near the marine sanctuary. Overall, the place is well organized and offers a very good experience.

“Our favourite place in the Philippines”

Very nice private room and bathroom and lovely staff. We don’t ride scooters and we found the location perfect - very close to a lovely beach, walking distance (or short tuktuk) to San Juan, and the Tagbalayon staff organised a great tuktuk tour for us at a very reasonable price which allowed us to see the rest of the island.

Staff were very welcoming, wrote new arrivals names on the chalkboard which was cute! Breakfast here was delicious and good value. The beds were comfortable and showers/ toilets were adequately cleaned. Lots of space in the dorm and good locker space.

Well organised. Dorm rooms have low red lighting on all night so you can see your way. Dorms have aircon but not too much. Staff really helpful. Owner is very nice and helpful. Free meal on a Tuesday is a great idea getting everyone to mix and then karaoke. Dorms are cleaned regularly. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers in the 16 bed dorm but I never seemed to wait long. Restaurant is good and price is reasonable. Tubod beach is across the road. Easy to get tuk tuks to anywhere else. Would definitely stay here again.

I had an unpleasant experience with a tricycle driver working for the hostel. He was wearing a hostel T-shirt, so it was clearly not an independent driver. Before the ride, I explicitly repeated the price several times and each time he clearly confirmed 200 pesos. However, when we arrived at the port, he suddenly demanded 400 pesos. I would never have agreed to that price. For comparison, I paid about 60% less for a similar ride from the ferry to the hostel with a different driver. This felt very misleading and unprofessional, especially since the driver represents the hostel. The hostel itself is actually very nice, and for the price I really cannot complain about the accommodation. My negative rating is only because of this experience. I would strongly recommend future guests to be very careful and confirm prices clearly in advance when using transport arranged by the hostel.
