“Great place for a short stopover from the airport or a mini break if you just want to sit by a pool”

Location is, without traffic, about 15 mins from the airport. When you book, send a message to the hotel ( it will go to the owner ) and ask for a transfer. It is 15000 CAF ( £20 / €23 ) each way and that can be added to your check out total. NOTE: No cards accepted, either pay cash in local / USD / Euro. Rooms are fairly basic but serve the purpose and all have mosquitoe nets, when it’s that time of the year and also air conditioning. There’s a pool which is lovely. The owner is French and a lovely guy but speaks no English. Make sure you download Google Translate, it will come in handy. The WiFi is surprisingly pretty good, even when around the pool.

Quiet, nature, service

The best place to discover the area and at only 15 minutes from the Airport. Bernard was a real gentleman he run the place with passion and professionality. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pool was a plus! Book there you will be Happy.

Nice French style breakfast and good, very reasonably priced dinner. Room was large and comfortable. Facilities were good, large swimming pool. Hotel convenient for the airport and the Bandia game park.

Bernard the host pulled out all the stops for our son’s birthday to make this a trip to remember! Food was excellent, along with a nice location, pool, clean room and quite comfy bed.

The staff is very friendly and it’s in a great location next to Bandia. The woman was so kind and went out of her way to drive me to the road so I felt safe instead of walking. The security guard made me genuinely laugh with his jokes.

Baobab Soleil was a great stay. It's in a quiet and quite remote place, surrounded by (naturally) loads of gorgeous baobabs - walks around the area were really nice for bird and nature-spotting. The grounds of the hotel are really large, beautifully looked after, and hosts loads of birds. The swimming pool is massive and incredibly refreshing after a long walk. My room was large and comfortable, and had a nice terrace with a full-sized, cushioned banquette for lounging. The food here was fantastic. Lots of Senegalese and French dishes on offer. Breakfast was simple, but plentiful and tasty. Bernard, Ba, Buba and the rest of the team were very friendly and always helpful. Ba especially kept me ever-entertained with his charm and wit (and fluent English!). Trips to Bandia and transport elsewhere were easily sorted by the hotel.

“A wonderful rest before returning home”

I am a keen bird watcher. Walks around Baobab Soleil produced many interesting varieties of birds. In addition I needed a good rest after a very intense few weeks in Uganda. Baobab Soleil met this need admirably. It was quiet, away from the city (Dakar) and fairly close to the airport. In addition Bernard, the proprietor, was very helpful (eg he got me easily set up for a visit to the nearby Bandia Wildlife Reserve (1 km away) which was amazing.

Location, very comfortable, the pool was VERY nice. Having walks near the hotel was nice as well, very safe and beautiful. The staff was listening, available and helping. Doing there best to make this moment exceptional. I will come again for sure !

Quiet and tucked away. 20mins from/to airport. Ability to organise an on-time transfer to the airport. Late check out not an issue. Good 4-poster mosquito net around bed. On site dinner restaurant. Reasonable breakfast by Senegal standards.

Wow! Very spacious rooms with a large bathroom. Beautiful garden. Large dining room. Nice swimming pool. Close to Bandia Park (5-10 min drive). Close to the airport. Lovely place. A great place for 1-2 nights. Very polite and helpful owner. We were able to communicate in English.

Absolutely stunning experience thanks to this closed compound that feels very private, filled with baobabs and real African nature. The place is run by a French gentleman who is super nice and gladly helps you out with anything you need, this is probably the best place to stay if you look for a base to do trips to Bandia Reserve. Thanks to its unique atmosphere, spending a night in this serene, beautiful place is a travel must on its own!!

All the staff excellent, friendly and helpful..amazing Baobab trees to see,good food and a good pool to swim in/relax by. Rooms clean and comfortable with good aircon.
