The welcoming and friendly atmosphere the view super room very comfortable and very nice hot shower really tasty breakfast I have stayed a couple of times and hope to stay again

“Lovely hosts but a shame about the building site right next door”

The Boat House is a lovely small hotel with wonderful hosts - Walter and Amanda who were very helpful and had lots of knowledge about the area and South Africa in general. We couldn’t fault their hospitality and that of the staff.

Everything I travel all the time and this is one of the best places I’ve stayed the owners and staff are amazing people the breakfast is super with lots of choices I would recommend going there and if I am in Cape Town again I will definitely stay there.

A great location for seeing the penguins and visiting the Cape of Good Hope. A very comfortable guesthouse with lovely views. Parking outside the door, and indoor pool, and a great choice of breakfast options.

The house was very beautiful, but we didn't stay as the room did not have an enclosed bathroom with a door!

I travel a lot, both for business and leisure and stay 100+ nights at hotels a year. The Boat House has been probably my highlight in 2025, from a warm welcome to a cozy and comfortable room to a friendly team and great breakfast for an B&B. One can’t ask for more! Totally recommend it!

The owner was so friendly and helpful. The place was incredibly clean with beautiful views of the ocean, mountains and coastline. Breakfast was really nice too!

Walter and Amanda are a fabulous couple that add soul to The Boathouse. Breakfasts were exceptional with room in the menu for flexibility. Views from the balcony add to the tranquility. Probably the best place to stay in Simonstown.

Comfortable clean room with amazing view across the bay and table and chairs to sit outside. Excellent hosts and staff. Great choice of freshly prepared breakfasts. Simon’s Town has lots of options to eat and drink and is a short walk down the hill from The Boat House. We would definitely recommend staying here and it’s a great base for visiting Boulders Beach and Cape Point.

Fabulous location. Stunning views. The publicity photos & views are accurate. Hosts Amanda & Walter were simply superb, making our stay in Simon’s Town and surrounding area one we will return to. Responsive, helpful, knowledgable and delightful. They also make the best breakfasts and run a good team, keeping this property tip top. All doors & windows have security bars locked on to prevent local Baboons from entering. We visited all the places we wanted to very easily. Special area. Wonderful memories.
