At the source of the River Orne, this old hunting lodge dating back from the 18th and 19th centuries welcomes you in an 80-hectare wooded park well stocked with game. Le Pavilion de Gouffern is a charming character hotel. All rooms are accessed by a staircase. This is a very unusual ex-Hunting Lodge. It is full of character. The facilities at the hotel were fine, including breakfast. The grounds are extensive & beautiful. The lady receptionist was delightful, friendly & very helpful. Enjoyed our stay.

“Glorious forest, historic property”
The property is really in a stunning location and the forest is glorious. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to cycle or go hiking through the forest, but it was still the perfect location for us - we were in the area for a 60th birthday event.

Beautiful old French Manor House. Surrounded by well kept lawns and woods, great for a walk to stretch your legs after driving all day. Best stopover hotel we’ve found so far! Will stay again.

“Sweet suite in gardener’s mews house”
Perfect location for the Haras du Pin where I was attending an event. The room was in a seperate gardener’s mews house. Sweet and comfortable. The main building looks great.

“Wonderful place in an excellent location!”
Location, the house and grounds were amazing. So nice to see deer grazing on the lawn from the bedroom window. Staff were friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Swimming pool was great after a long day!

Fabulous location for cycling. Quiet and peaceful forest surroundings. Host was warm and welcoming and also arranged evening restaurants for our cycling group.

“Old fashioned elegance”
It is a lovely oldish building and had an effortless charm to it. It is set in lovely grounds. I have become tired of driving into cities for a hotel and was looking for a hotel in the countryside and this ticked all the boxes. We will go back to explore the area and the hotel grounds. The bath was great too!
