“Worth adding to your trip!”

People have said it before in reviews, but the highlight of this property are the proprietors themselves. The homecooked breakfasts are unbelievable, and they helped me plan every step of my trip (finding taxis, planning my itinerary, even transport to my next city). I showed up with no plans and left having a beautiful few days full of adventure. The rooms are nice, clean and safe- you're staying in a jungle so it isn't perfectly silent but I slept great. Walking distance to some incredible views! Even if you weren't planning to stop in Sigirya for your trip to Sri Lanka- you should add this stop to your plans. And don't plan too much more beyond that, you will always get a better price in person. I would definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend to everyone that you do too.

Very helpful owner Amazing breakfast Beautiful setting Short walk to restaurants 5-10 minutes but just be aware you need a tuktuk in the dark because of the wild elephants in the area. The hotel were very helpful in arranging this if needed

Room was very clean with comfortable beds covered by mozzie nets , good shower, excellent WIFI and the outside seats were enjoyed. The grounds were spotless. The breakfast can only be described as exceptional +++++ Location was tranquil set in a lush garden. Staff speak English and made us feel very welcome. They had great local knowledge and assisted with onward travel. All transport provided was excellent and well organized. Restaurants, ATM and supermarket/shops nearby, all within walking distance. The recommended restaurant was fantastic with excellent food and a beautiful view of Lions Rock and the lake. We were sad to leave. Highly recommended.

Great location, walking distance to sigirya rock, pidurangula rock and restaurants. The host is extremely helpful at getting well priced deals for safaris and other activities in the area. Beautiful big Sri Lankan breakfasts daily Clean rooms with good air con and nice gardens to explore

A pretty little homestay with delicious breakfast and very kind owners!

The owners are amazing, they’re so so helpful. They organised a safari to Minneriya for us and gave us lots of recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The room is nice too and has a fridge

“Homestay that ticks all boxes!”

Sigiri Rock Side was the perfect place to stay when visiting Sigiriya. Located very conveniently near the entrance of Sigiriya and some great restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and had some thoughtful touches - a fridge, a lamp for reading at night, a fan in the bathroom. The staff were awesome and Priyantha in particular was very helpful in organising scooters to visit Pollonuwara and our train ride back to Colombo. The breakfast included is also incredible. We would definitely stay here again.

A little garden haven in a good location of Sigiriya. It’s away from the main road so away from the busyness and noise but there are no street lamps for when it gets dark - so remember to bring a torch light. Host and family are very kind and friendly people. Will help to arrange tuk tuks and negotiate prices too (PickMe works only 50/50 because of local nuances). Breakfast was a kingly spread and best meals that I had there. Highly recommend if you need a value for money stay.

* Great time * We received very warm welcome from the whole family. Our stay at Sigiri Rock Side Home started with mini adventures - dripping water on the bed from the ceiling (it was heavy rain and the monkeys were blamed for damaging roof, the owner fixed this problem in 5 min), light in the room was switching on and off itself all night (haunted room?). We loved comfortable beds, good Wi-Fi connection, toiletries provided and of course delicious traditional breakfast. The owner organised all transport - tuk tuk and taxi - for our trips. ❤️Highly recommended ❤️

Amazing breakfast

The location is very near the lion rock that’s a plus. But at night the path from the main road till the place is very dark. Also, the breakfast was great and the owner is very helpful and friendly.

Clean and comfortable accommodation within a short tuk tuk ride of the local village and Sigiriya Rock. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially with arranging our sunrise trip to Sigiriya Rock and our onward journey to Kandy. As mentioned in previous reviews, the breakfast was outstanding — such a generous spread of homemade Sri Lankan dishes that we initially thought it was meant to be shared with other guests. A perfect place to stay in Sigiriya and highly recommended.

The Sigiri Rock Side is a Special Place. Its run by a lovely family, super helpful and friendly people. They offer cooking classes, exeptionally great breakfast, support you with booking taxi & tours and are always trying to make you feel home. The hotel is in the middle of the forest and it feels like you are as close to nature as is gets, cut off from the outside world! I will definitely come back here.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who made us feel immediately at home. The place itself is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and very well maintained. The owner runs the property together with his wife, and they are both incredibly kind and friendly. He was extremely helpful from the start, taking the time to explain all the different activities available in the area and helping us plan our days accordingly. Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious and very generous breakfast. One of the highlights of our stay was the cooking class with him — it was a fantastic experience, and the food we prepared together was absolutely delicious. He was always great company and consistently available whenever we needed assistance. We truly appreciated his hospitality and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic experience.

This place was amazing . I loved it -quiet and in the middle of jungles . Room Was Sooooooo clean and smelled so goood . I loved to stay there . The plants everywhere and the sound of the jungles. Friendly people .
