“Unforgettable”

We had an amazing stay at Anu’s home. From the moment we landed, Anu made our experience so easy. He recommended a plan for the full 3 days to maximise our time in Sigiriya. He coordinated our elephant safari and brought us anywhere we needed to go in his tuktuk. We didn’t have to think about anything, he sorted everything for us! He even picked us up when we got caught out in the pouring rain. The room itself is spotlessly clean and really comfortable with excellent AC. It’s private and separate from the family home. The location is great - short tuktuk or approx 30 min walk from the main area of Sigiriya, with lots of restaurants en route. The generous breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious. We also availed of Anu’s wife’s laundry service and our clothes came out perfectly, smelling amazing. I definitely recommend staying with Anu if you truly want to experience Sigiriya. He can coordinate the perfect itinerary based off your interests and is super knowledgeable about the area. In addition to that, Anu and his family are kind, warm and welcoming. Thank you Anu and family, we loved it!!

“Incredibly wonderful”

Our stay at Anu Shigiri Stay Home was absolutely spectacular. From the very first moment, everything was perfect. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, each dish exquisite and served with great care. Anu was an incredible host: always available for anything we needed, he took us to Pidurangala Rock to see the sunrise, and gave us a tour of Dambulla and other amazing places in the area. Even when it started pouring rain while we were at a restaurant, we called him and he came to pick us up super fast, demonstrating a level of attentiveness and kindness that clearly goes beyond the ordinary. The room also deserves special mention: comfortable, cozy, and with a perfect little terrace for relaxing. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and very pleasant. In short, all the services were a 10 out of 10, and our experience at Anu Shigiri Stay Home was simply unbeatable. “Truly memorable stay with unique experiences thanks to the hospitality”

We had a wonderful two-day stay and would absolutely recommend this place. The highlight was the host, who went above and beyond to make our stay special. He was available throughout the day whenever needed and took us to several attractions with his tuk-tuk, even stopping along the way to show us additional spots and waiting for us during visits. This level of care and flexibility was outstanding. The food was another big plus – especially the homemade dinners prepared by his wife, which were delicious. Breakfast was very generous, with large portions and a nice variety over the two days.

Anu is the most amazing host, made us feel welcome straight away. Staying there was an amazing experience, from the spotless room to the incredible breakfast. Location was perfect, just off the main road so it is quiet to get a good sleep but your are near many restaurants and tuk tuks. I could not recommend this Homestay enough.

We had an amazing stay at Anu’s homestay in Sigiriya. From the moment we arrived, Anu and his family welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home. They are truly wonderful hosts. The room was very large, spacious, and comfortable, and everything was perfectly arranged for a pleasant stay. Anu was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our visit. He helped us book our safari and even took us around the city to show us the best viewpoints of Sigiriya. He was always available and genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. We also had dinner at the house, and it was absolutely delicious. The breakfasts were very generous and really tasty as well. We truly loved our stay there. Staying with Anu and his family felt like a real immersion into Sri Lankan culture. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Sigiriya!

“Fab stay with wonderful family.”

We loved our stay at Anu’s place. Large spotless room and comfortable bed. Good shower and toilet. Outside veranda is very spacious. The property is in very convenient location with restaurants and beer/wine shop close by. In truth, you don’t need to go further than Anu’s for dinner as his wife is an excellent cook - we ate here 3 out of 4 nights - delicious! And the breakfasts - wow, first class Sri Lankan!! Anu ferried us around in his Tuk Tuk to Lion Rock, Pidurangala Rock, a day trip to Pollonnaruwa (visiting all the sites) all for a very competitive price. We are in our 70’s and found the Tuk Tuk very comfortable for the long day. Anu also can bring you to amazing out of the way places for Lion Rock photos or birdwatching. Anu’s wife runs a laundry business which we found exceptional value and so handy. Anu his wife and 2 daughters are delightfully welcoming and deserve the high reviews they receive. We miss them already. They only have one room to rent but are building more accommodation to help to improve their circumstances - great credit is due to them for their endeavours. Clean apartment in a quiet location. Got one of the best sleeps. Friendly homeowner and his wife. Also very good and generous breakfast. Would really recommend this place.

“Good stay and hospitality”

Homestay Sigiriya: The place was clean, comfortable, with an amazing breakfast, and a wonderful family. They recommended a safari and we were very happy with the experience. The owner also offered his tuk tuk tour and we had a wonderful time and treated us like a friend when he saw us in a different city after our stay. One thing to keep in mind is that as the homestay is in a jungle area, there are many monkeys that climb on the roofs and make noise at night. However, that is just how nature is, so there is nothing to complain about.

“Brilliant homestay in Sigiriya”

Absolutely amazing homestay if you are wanting to stay in Sigiriya while in Sri Lanka! Anu and his family were super accommodating and went above and beyond- couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Breakfast both days was amazing and authentic (as shown in photos), room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom- no complaints! Anu also took us to Dambulla for the day showing us the main sights. During our stay we went up Pidurangala Rock and explored the restaurants which were all in walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend to couples, group of 3!

“Beautiful homestay”

This property was fantastic! There is only one room for the homestay and the family are so generous and kind. The breakfast we had here was some of the best we had had for our entire trip which was a great send off as this was our last stay before heading back home to Australia. Room itself was extremely clean and wonderfully presented and there is even a gorgeous dog Leon to keep you company and greet you whenever you get back from your activities for the day or evening. Couldn’t recommend more!

Room is very big and nice. Located in a quiet area with restaurants close by. Breakfast was very diverse and diferent in the 2 nights we stayed there which we highly appreciated. Host was great.

“Perfect place to explore Sigiriya”

We had a perfect stay at Anu’s family home. Everything was spotlessly clean, and Anu and his family were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our time there. It truly felt like a proper homestay … warm, welcoming, and authentic. There was one guest room when we stayed, but they were building two more, which was amazing to see and so nice to support a family that is expanding and growing their home. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was exactly what you wanted after a long day exploring. Breakfast every morning was outstanding. It was so special to be able to try so many different Sri Lankan breakfast dishes, all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Anu also helped organise a cooking class which was lots of fun! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend staying here.

Spacious room. Excellent breakfast. Friendly family. Anu is very helpful and arranged each time for transport to the center of Sigiriya and for transport to Kandy by car. Good value for money.

The only room in the homestay, it’s spacious and comfortable. Anu was the best host ever, advising me on activities, guiding me through Sigiriya, and even driving me to Kandy. I can't wait to come back!

10/10 perfect stay at Anu's place. Very well maintained place the family has built. The room was super clean and also the smell in the room was fantastic. We were provided with Soft and fresh towles, the bed had white linen (Anu's wife is running a laundry business so you will not get disappointed by how the sheets look like). Dinner and breakfast is beyond amazing and you will not regret eating Rice and Curry at their place. Best homestay experience we had in Sri Lanka and we've already traveled over 2 weeks though the country. 10/10 recommend a stay. great hospitality!! Thank you Anu and family we enjoied it a lot!
