Very chill place, green garden, next to the river with lots of fish, big pool for the kids, enough towels available, fresh juices at the bar and good South African wine. Very good breakfast! Close proximity to other restaurants.

The service was amazing! All of the team were so kind and giving us recommendations. They even gave us lifts to places in their Tuk tuk.

The room had everything we needed. We would have loved it if the room had a bit more 'love' in terms of aesthetics, but other than that, the room, the resort, and the staff were 10/10. ​Key highlights: The shower pressure was excellent, the bed had a mosquito net, and the AC worked perfectly. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but it looked very clean and beautiful. The restaurant is right in front of the pool; we had breakfast there every day and it was delicious. We loved the detail of alternating between a regular pancake one day and a chocolate crepe the next,it was a great touch! Everything was served with fresh fruit. We also had dinner there once, and it was delicious! ​They organized our safari with a driver named Thilina, and the service was 10/10. At one point during the safari, I got a big scare, but he stayed calm and handled the situation perfectly (thank you, Thilina!). The place has a lot of potential, but the resort hasn't reached its full potential yet. It’s located in a very peaceful area, and you can tell they are working hard to make it look beautiful.

We had an amazing stay at Sigiriya Riverside Resort — everything was simply perfect! The location is beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere and a lovely view. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well taken care of. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. They really go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need and feel at home. Their hospitality truly made our stay special. The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, and the overall price-quality ratio is excellent. Everything about our stay was top-notch. We would definitely recommend Sigiriya Riverside Resort to anyone visiting the area, especially for a relaxing stay of one or two nights!

Had a great stay - all staff are very accommodating and the bossman can speak excellent english and arrange anything you need - pool area is good, cool and relaxing after climbing the rocks 🪨

“A wonderful hotel”

A wonderful hotel. The owner is incredibly helpful and polite. We were charmed by both the staff and the hotel itself. And the restaurant—that’s a story in itself. The food is only prepared after you place your order. So, you get a meal prepared just for you. One day, the restaurant was being cleaned, so the staff set up a table for us in the shade near the beds and served everything in a wonderfully organized manner. The pool was perfect after all the excursions and hikes up Pidurangala Hill, Lion Rock, and other excursions.

We loved our stay , Lal our host was extremely accommodating . The whole experience from food, pool, river. transport & wildlife was absolutely fabulous!

“Lovely experience”

Location is great as centre for travels to temple etc, plus just a brief stroll to local eateries all of which do good local food. Owner/host Lal is really helpful, interesting guy with great knowledge of local and countrywide affairs

Lovely pool. Great, genuine hosts - nothing was too big of an ask. Organised a great last minute safari for us (highlight of our trip so far!). Highly recommend, amazing value for money.

“Fantastic place, ok ground floor rooms”

It took me a while to write this review because I didn’t know what note to give… definitely a 15 out of 10 for the staff, Lal, the fabulous owner, the great guests, the bar restaurant and the pool.

Maleesha and his team were absolutely amazing, very hospitable, friendly and went above and beyond. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was incredible. Facilities were very well maintained. Could not recommend highly enough

“Jungle paradise close to everything.”

For our first time in Sri Lanka our experience was just great. The room was very clean and big, the bathroom huge and the showers worked better than at home! The pool area was nice and breakfast simple but delicious. It’s very convenient for every attraction in the area and close to restaurants yet very peaceful and quiet. But the best thing here are the people, everyone was very friendly and would do everything to accommodate our needs. Our host Lal spoke excellent English and was very friendly and hospitable, along with his staff, we came in the middle of the night but it was not a problem and they looked after us like we were family. We couldn’t have asked for a better place, in fact they have spoiled the rest of Sri Lanka for us!

Location was very peaceful and quiet. Host was fantastic, sorted out all of our trips. Brilliant breakfast!

“A family run hotel where you feel at home”

The hosts of this property were so helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and the food on sight delicious. We had breakfast with our stay which was a mini feast and ate at the hotel one night! The staff really could not do enough for us assisting with getting to the local sites and transportation on to our next location! It is a Real family run operation and they made you feel like you were part of it.

We stayed here for a 1 day/night, just to chill after 2 heavy itinerary days! They let us check in earlier which was great and the pool is brilliant! 15 minute walk into the centre if you wanted to use this as a base.

For the money you absolutely can't complain . Great value. Breakfast was very nice and well presented. Laying by what looks like a new pool with spotlessly clean water looking into the Jungle and birds/wildlife all around was blissful. With no noise from traffic pollution. Highly Recommend.
