“Perfect!”

Amazing!! Nimsara Lodge was the perfect start on our Sri Lanka holiday. The friendliest hosts who did everything they could to make our stay perfect. Room was immaculately clean, breakfast was delicious and huge (even making us a packed breakfast for our 6am safari). I would also highly recommend having dinner, the rice and curry was great! Perfect stay!

The family was really good to us, always available to help with any thing. They received us with a natural juice and provided us with everything we needed. The bedroom really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, huge amount and very good quality: fruits, traditional Sri Lanka dishes, etc. This place is great!!!!

I had an excellent experience at this hotel from start to finish. The staff was warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and I immediately felt welcomed. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The bed was especially cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities and attention to detail. The location was perfect — convenient for exploring the area while still quiet enough to relax. The breakfast was fresh and varied, and handmade by the host. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely return. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a great atmosphere!

From the moment we arrived at Nimsara we knew we had made the right decision. Our room was incredibly spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay, plus it was so peaceful. The hosts are amazing and are definitely a highlight of how good this place is. Each of them made sure to come and say hello, and were welcoming and helpful from the start. The breakfast was also amazing, and they accommodated around our busy schedule. We hope to return to Sri Lanka with our children and hope we can visit again because we wished we had some extra days here as we loved the stay so much! Thank you for a wonderful stay and start to our trip!

Very friendly owner and amazing breakfast!!

The family are so lovely here. The room was comfortable and clean. It’s about 3km away from the main town so bare this in mind.

Wonderful homestay with spotless rooms and incredibly friendly hosts. The home-cooked food was the best part, authentic, comforting, and so delicious. Would definitely stay again!

Nice room and land

This was by far our best accommodation in Sri Lanka. Very clean, pleasant, with an excellent breakfast. It is a family run business, the sons checked us in and showed us around, mum cooks excellent breakfasts and (if you ask) lunches and dinners, all absolutely great. Dad runs Tuk Tuk and has very nice prices and overall he is a very nice gentleman. He took us by tuk tuk to the sunrise at Lion's Rock and spent the whole next day with us taking us around all the sights in Polonaruwa and then on to Dambulla and finally on the bus. He showed us which bus to take and arranged with the driver to take care of us. Absolutely great experience, if we go to Sri Lanka again we will not skip this place.

Beautiful clean cool rooms in the jungle, hardly a need for the fan even because the trees and plants keep the rooms so cool. Lovely friendly and helpful family, delicious breakfasts and dinners if you choose to eat there. I highly recommend the home cooked rice and curry, it’s so tasty and the mum will cook it as spicy as you like (I like it spicy and it was so yummy compared to the bland ‘tourist curry’ they serve in a lot of the restaurants in Sri Lanka’) The son even showed me around the area, it really felt like home. Highly recommend!

“Everything was exceptional”

Everything was exceptional! I stayed here around five years ago, and the place is still maintained beautifully with the same level of cleanliness. Highly recommend staying here. Even without AC, you don’t feel hot because of the trees surrounding the property. Plus, the served fish curry is absolutely awesome!

I stayed at this lovely guest house for three nights, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed with a bottle of water and a refreshing drink, a thoughtful touch that I really appreciated. The guest house is family-run, and you can feel the warmth and care they put into making guests feel at home. All the family was very kind, polite, and incredibly helpful. They organized a tour for me to Pollonnaruwa at a very reasonable price, much more affordable than other options I found around. Breakfast was another highlight: plentiful, homemade, and prepared with fresh ingredients, I really enjoyed it! The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and if you need a tuk-tuk or any other assistance, they are always ready to help with a smile. Overall, it’s a charming and welcoming place with excellent service. Highly recommended!
