We really enjoy are time in here! Manju and his wife were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty and traditional, we also eat dinner at accomadation. Manju took us to safari with his jeep and it was wonderfull experience. We higly recomented this place!

“Superb Sigiriya Stay!”

Our stay at Manju's Homestay was amazing. Manju and his family couldn't do enough to help us. We had excellent breakfasts and they prepared a really good curry on our first night. We were only going to stay for a couple of days but ended up staying for eight days. We were able to hire bicycles locally for 1000 rupees, and the cycling of the Sigiriya back roads is some of the best we have done whilst in Sri Lanka. During our stay we had to go to Colombo to extend our visa, and Manju arranged a lift with his brother-in-law Lali. The guest house is set in a beautiful jungle garden and we even saw fire flies one night. Hopefully we will be back one day!

“An amazing beautiful experience”

We have been travelling for 3 and a half months and this was by far our favourite stay. Manju and his wife are extremely friendly and kind people. His wife’s brother was also there and was so kind. The room was spotless and beautiful. Their garden surrounding was beautiful. They had beautiful children who would always smile and wave at us. We had dinner on one of the nights cooked by Manju’s wife and it was delicious. We also booked a safari tour with them which was incredible. I would highly recommend this stay!

The serenity of it was so peaceful! Manju and his wife are so welcoming and helpful, offering ideas of what to do and picking me up from around town when needed which as a solo travel was so helpful. The breakfast everyday was so tasty too. Don’t hesitate to book here and contact Manju to arrange any trips you plan while in Sigirya.

Was lovely place surrounded by the wildlife and lots of monkeys came to visit.. wonderful homemade breakfast, lots a variety! Different and just as tasty every morning! The hosts were so kind and welcoming and have everything for your needs.. very happy stay🙂

“Manju’s Homestay: The rating speaks for itself!”

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Manju’s. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom spotless. The property is about 2km from the main street in a peaceful location amongst the trees. Manju is a fantastic host, organising transport for us at a very reasonable price. His wife, Deela, made delicious homely meals for us each day - some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka! Overall, I couldn’t recommend Manju’s Homestay highly enough to anyone visiting Sigiriya :)

“Home in a Homestay”

A cute little place tucked away in the middle of the jungle. Lali is an amazing driver — he picked me up from the airport and also took me to Ella. He drives safely but confidently, which made me feel very comfortable. It was such an authentic experience, and the family is incredibly kind and welcoming. They took me around by tuk tuk in the evenings and took such good care of me when I wasn’t feeling well with jet lag. It’s also the small things that really touched me — like leaving the light on when they knew I was coming back late from a tour. I truly felt cared for here.

Can't recommend this stay enough. Manju and his family we're very welcoming and Manju was always willing to help and pretty much always available to take you places in his Tuk Tuk. In the jungle, peaceful stay, you can relax on the terrace after a day of exploring. Good breakfast too

“little paradise”

We stayed in this lovely little paradise for three nights, exploring sigiriya and its surroundings. The rooms are spacious and clean, the outside garden is beautiful and the location is in that sweet spot of being calm and off the main roads but still easily accessible. The prices are very affordable and incredible for what you get. The most special thing about Manju Homestay though is Manju, the owner, himself and his lovely family. I have stayed in a lot of different places and Manju is one of those hosts that really stick out. He really cares for his guests and their wellbeing. He gave us rides in his tuktuk, helped us organise our itinerary, cooked for us and adviced us on what to do and where to go. And he did all of that with so much compassion, energy and joy. He lives for his family and this place, and you can tell that in so many ways. Thank you Manju, for making our stay truly special.

We had a wonderful stay with Manju and his family. We felt very comfortable and truly welcomed, and we were treated to delicious home-cooked meals every morning and evening. Manju’s tips and the organization of the safari, the trip to Polonnaruwa, the sunrise hike to Pidurangala Rock, and the cooking class were absolutely exceptional. One very special memory for us will be the game of Carrom, with Manju as the well-deserved winner.
