Mr and Mrs Lal took great care of us. They arranged safari and tuktuk, and also taxi to Trimcomelee. Room was spacious and clean - just needed an extra powerpoint next to second bed. Breakfast large and tasty with omelet, fruit, toast plus more. Thanks for a great stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Lal’s and wish we had been able to stay longer. What really makes this place great are the hosts - Lal and his wife were very friendly, accommodating and knowledgable about the area. The room itself is very comfortable and set in a beautiful garden with very comfy outdoor seating. We were served a brilliant tea on arrival and a great breakfast of fruit, omelettes and pancakes in the morning. We would love to come back here!

We spent one night at this friendly homestay and can absolutely recommend it: The owners are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the location is within walking distance to various sites and restaurants. We would like to especially point out the Sri Lankan breakfast, which was delicious. You cannot go wrong if you book here.

Lal, our host, was very helpful discussing our plans and offering ways to improve on them. We enjoyed home cooked dinner (in addition to the nice breakfast) twice and found it very comforting after long days of exploring the area. It was the best way to start out visit.

Lal was very kind and took me to many places. At first, I was a little suspicious because he was so kind, but later apologized. I also enjoyed interacting with other backpackers, and even though I don't speak English well, I still enjoyed myself. Using the mosquito net at night was very comfortable.

Lal Home Stay was the perfect place for my last day in Sri Lanka. The bedrooms are spacious and very clean, and the location is great. You truly feel at home because the hosts are incredibly caring and attentive. The host accompanied me by scooter to dinner for two evenings and even came back to pick me up so I wouldn’t have to walk alone at night. One day he woke up at 6 a.m. to open the gates for me so I could leave at dawn, as I wanted to go trekking to Pidurangala Rock. The breakfast they prepare is excellent (I absolutely loved the coconut pancakes), and sometimes they also ask if you’d like to have dinner with them. They are a truly kind and welcoming family. Highly recommended!
