The food, the room, THE POOL! Amazing. We were made to feel so welcome with welcome drinks and breakfast times discussed etc. we had delicious rice and curry one night here too. Would recommend.

The hosts were very welcoming and helped us organize trips to the Lion Rock, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla and a safari. The food was delicious and the room very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time at Isanka Lion Lodge and would stay there again. Highly recommend.

“A real Role Model for Hospitality”

The family-run hotel was our first stop in Sri Lanka and honestly the perfect place to start our journey. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The family was always friendly, helpful and available whenever we needed support — without ever being intrusive. They helped us organize excursions, safaris and even supported us with shopping and everyday questions. The airport transfer was perfectly arranged and included a very warm welcome as well as useful tips for a smooth start in Sri Lanka, such as where to exchange money and get a SIM card. One of the highlights was definitely the food. During our four-night stay we had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day because the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine was simply outstanding. A special thank you to Isanka, who perfectly organized everything for us, to his sister for preparing such amazing and delicious meals every day, and also to our wonderful driver Champika, who made traveling around Sri Lanka easy, comfortable and enjoyable for our family. What made this place truly special was the heartfelt hospitality — from the warm welcome on arrival to the caring support throughout our stay and the emotional goodbye at the end. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this family are. They couldn’t do enough for us and we really didn’t want to leave. They really take pride in their property and was built by the family. They organised our trips, took us to places for free in their tuk tuk, made incredible breakfasts every morning and we had a couple of great dinners too. The whole family made us feel so welcome and looked after our toddler with so much care. We will be back!

“Perfect homestay in Sigiriya”

Anil and his staff were so welcoming and helpful and I want to highly recommend this homestay. The place is very tranquil and beautifully maintained. The breakfasts were superb and on most days meant we couldn't even fit in lunch. If there was anything we wanted, the staff would do their best to assist. Thank you very much for having us.

“Amazing”

This is our favourite stay out of 20 nights in Sri Lanka! So much wildlife to spot from the pool from Monkeys,lizards & birds! We had dinner there and it was so much better then eating out! The family that run the hotel are so kind and generous we would 100% return!

Lovely pool to use, the staff were amazing and very accommodating, booked an elephant safari through them and tuk tuk’s as well. Breakfast was very good.

You absolutely will not regret your stay at this gorgeous family run lodge. It was the perfect place to stay for our last 3 nights in Sri Lanka. The rooms are clean and comfy. Surrounded by nature and the family are the kindest, who will go above and beyond. All activities can be planned through the accomodation, the breakfasts are incredible and make sure you don't miss dinner!

Fantastic place. The host family were amazing. Nothing was too much for them. We had dinner there every night, and they organised a safari and trip to Polonnaruwa for us. They also dropped us off at Lion Rick for a sunrise climb, and then collected us afterwards. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The pool was great in the hot weather. Highly recommend.

We were recommended staying at Isanka Lion Lodge by friends who has recently stayed there. The hospitality we received from the family was truly fantastic. From making us feel so welcome, organising all our trip (very reasonably) cooking amazing food for us - the breakfasts were the best we had in Sri Lanka. We enjoyed sitting on the lovely balcony at night listening to all the wildlife. We enjoyed our stay that much we decided to stay longer :) We will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at this place. The swimming pool is fantastic – perfect for relaxing. The house is new, very nice, and everything was spotlessly clean. The food was delicious and the portions were really big, which we appreciated a lot. The staff were incredibly nice, helpful, and always made sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended!

Very beautiful place, everything looked clean. Big pool with sunbeds. Great breakfast. Very nice people working there, always willing to help. The owner arranged for us tuk tuk to Polonaruwa. He also has a tuk tuk, so you can pay him to take you somewhere, for the same price that you would get on Pick up app. He is a very kind person! Our room had AC and a fan, and a mosquito net. We stayed there for 2 nights.. There's a lot of restaurants near (walking distance).
