“Fabulous”

Anu and Champika were so lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was great and the pool very clean. They could not have been more welcoming and helpful and Anu was always happy to drive us anywhere in his Tuk Tuk. He Suggested a Safari to Hurulu and arranged the car, where we saw so many elephants. It was amazing.

We had such a special time in Sigiriya — it was one of the highlights of our trip. Anu and his family have created a wonderful little paradise with their beautiful garden. Lying by the pool, listening to all the unique sounds of nature, and constantly keeping an eye out for tiny squirrels, colorful birds, or quick little mongooses running through the garden felt incredibly special. Every morning, Anu surprised us with a different breakfast, each one even more exciting and delicious than the day before. He was exceptionally kind and attentive, always taking time for us and making us feel welcome. Whether it was driving us to Lion’s Rock before sunrise or taking us on a beautiful sunset tour to hidden viewpoints in the area that we would never have discovered on our own — every experience felt thoughtful and memorable. It was truly something special, and we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend it for a few more days.

Anu was extremely helpful in arranging activities and this for us during our stay and went out of his way to ensure all our needs were catered for. The breakfast was excellent especially the local dishes.

This place is a little gem in Sigiriya! The host was so lovely and kind, giving us information and arranging Tuktuks to go and see the sights. The location is on a quiet road, with only nature around you. You still have a few restaurants and cafes around so it is perfect for a quiet stay. The rooms were very comfortable with hot water and wifi. There is also a pool if you want to relax and cool off. Amazing stay, thank you :)

“Beautiful accommodation surrounded by nature”

We had a great stay here. The accommodation is beautiful, surrounded by jungle. Having a pool in the heat of Sigiriya is essential and the pool here is amazing, good size and very clean with a lovely view. We saw lots of wildlife from the garden. We were told that sometimes wild elephants can be spotted from the accommodation. The room was comfortable with good air con and mosquito net. Everything was clean and the shower was good. Anu is a great host who helped us out with tips and lifts. His staff work very hard and are all very friendly. We felt very welcome and looked after. We personally loved the location. It's slightly out of the main town, you could walk easily but in the heat we chose to catch a tuktuk (there are lots around so was always easy) for just over £1 each way. It only takes about five minutes. We actually preferred the part of town the hotel is in to the main town. If you walk out of the hotel and take a left you will reach lots of lovely small cafes and restaurants with amazing food and drinks at better prices than the main town. The accommodation is handy for reaching the rocks, Anu helped arrange lifts for good price - you could walk if you preferred.

We had a very pleasant stay at Darshani. Good location, nice rom with a balcony and good location. Anu and the staff were very nice. Beautiful surroundings with a lot of birds.

Lively staff, Anu and his wife even arranged our transfer to Ella. Room is spacious and clean and close to some nice restaurants and coffee bars.

We had such a wonderful stay at Darshani Lodge and would absolutely stay here again 🙂 The guesthouse is family-run, and you truly feel it from the first moment. Anu and his family are incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive. They genuinely care about making sure you have the best possible experience in Sigiriya and are always ready to help organize trips, transport, or give advice. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature with beautiful rice field views, yet very close to cafés, restaurants, and all the main attractions in Sigiriya. You don’t need to worry about long or complicated tuk-tuk rides, especially at night, which is a big plus. The place was spotless clean, and everything worked perfectly. The swimming pool is great! It’s not luxury in a “fancy resort” sense, but honestly, the quality-price ratio is incredible. You have all you need: AC, mosquito nets, hot water, and ok comfortable beds. This guesthouse truly exceeded our expectations. If we return to Sigiriya, we would definitely stay at Darshani Lodge again. “Best place, best owner!”

This is the best place we’ve been to so far! Our room was in the middle of the ricefields with a beautiful view. The owner is the nicest guy ever, nothing is too much and he fixes everything super fast and smooth. Thank you again for the lovely stay!

i liked everything! how much nature is around you, pool, kind staff, terrace where you can observe birds. That was one of my best stays, I truly enjoyed it!

This place felt like a safari, so many excotic animals/bird and rice fields. Family hosting this hotel is very friendly and welcoming. Anu gave us a tuktuk ride to the Lion's rock with very good price and was available at all times via Whatsapp. Traditional dinner was amazing. Perfect welcome to Sri Lanka!

Amazing accomodation! The family were very accomodating and lovely, and even brought us fresh fruit and smoothies to have by the pool. The rooms were clean and had excellent air conditioning . The dinner and breakfast we had at the lodge was delicious too.
