“Definitely stay here!”

We spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and stayed in some great places, but this was one of our favourites. The lodge is very unique with the most amazing outdoor bathroom. It felt like a real escape, surrounded by a beautiful garden, private veranda and a hammock to relax in. Banda was an excellent host. He got up at 5am and to take us to Lion rock so we could climb it for sunrise and had breakfast waiting for us when we got back. On both nights, his mum and wife cooked for us and served us the most delicious, home cooked meals on our veranda. This was honestly some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Ama Lodge definitely set the bar for accommodation on our trip. Thank you Banda and family!

The host is absolutely incredible! In all my travels — and I’ve traveled a lot — I’ve never experienced such genuine care and attention. Banda, thank you so much for the cozy atmosphere, delicious breakfast, wonderful service, and such pleasant conversations. The house is spotless, the bed is comfortable and big, and the outdoor shower is a truly delightful experience. It's nice to have breakfast or chill at night in the inner yard just in front of the house. We were happy with our stay here. Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful stay at Ama Eco Lodge. Everything is beautifully decorated and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was superb, and loved the 'honesty fridge' concept where you can just help yourself to drinks. The host is incredibly warm and goes above and beyond to help with everything, from organizing transfers and safaris to giving the best local restaurant tips. You truly feel welcome here. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property with an amazing bathroom and nice touches. We were looked after by a lovely and helpful family. Banda looked after us so well from before we arrived and even after we left and was so kind. It is a short drive into sigiriya so very easy to get to but lovely to stay slightly away in a peaceful tropical setting

“Incredible jungle house with the most generous and welcoming hosts!!”

If you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka then you must book to stay at Ama Eco lodge!! Banda and his family are the perfect hosts and nothing was too much to ask. Throughout our stay Banda provided us with delicious freshly made fruit smoothies and hot tea and coffee. He also offered to drive us everywhere we wanted to go free of charge!! He organised a driver for us at the start and end of our stay which was helpful. We ate here 3 nights in a row as the meals cooked by Banda's mum and wife were so unbelievably tasty, varied and full of fresh herbs and spices. Writing this at the end of our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka and the food we ate at Banda's place was by far the best we ate during the whole trip!! Banda also helped to organise a safari at Hurulu eco park and an Ayurvedic massage, both of which we would recommend. The accommodation itself was also very special, some of the reviews say it is a little dark, however Banda has now installed two bright lights, one each side of the bed, so this is no longer a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fun and unique. There is a seating area upstairs with a fridge stocked with drinks and chocolate free of charge. We were actually staying during the cyclone, however Banda went out of his way to make sure that we were always happy and comfortable. I had tears in my eyes as we drove away which I think says a lot about the kindness and hospitality we experienced in such a short stay!!

Amazing bath, host was superfriendly and honest

The host is adorable, and the breakfast was rich and super tasty. The host's mom cooked dinner for us, and it was delicious. Great place to stay with a great location to go to climb Sigiriya Rock. We strongly recommend it!

We loved everything about this accommodation! Banda is such a nice person. He is warm and welcoming and always wants to make sure you are comfortable/ have everything you need. He recommended different places to visit and shared with us some contacts to rent a scooter, boat tour, taxi driver, etc. The accommodation has everything you need and the bed is very comfy. The breakfast is one of the best that I had in Sri Lanka, local food and very tasty. It is also very big. I recommend 100% Banda and his apartment

One of the best places we stayed on our trip. Banda was such a great host - helping us arrange transport and get the most out of our stay. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast on the porch and got to see the fireflies by the lake in the evening.

“Rainforest lodge at nature's doorstep”

Wow the lodge was very unique and cosy with a rainforest feel. The outdoor bathroom took some getting used to, but we ended up really loving it. The bed is on the bottom of a loft so it remains cool throughout the night. There is AC which was helpful during the day. Dinner was absolutely delicious and cooked by Banda's mum. Banda, the owner, was super accommodating and provided us welcome fruit juices. Thank you Banda for a wonderful stay!

We had one Night in the Ama Eco Lodge and it was so very nice! We felt very welcomed and the host and his family are so friendly! The Lodge itself has AC and a Fan. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is like on the pictures with a nice bathtube. In addition we had the possibilty to have a delicious dinner and breakfast! We definetly can recommend the lodge!
