“Great value for money, homelike guesthouse”

Absolute best guesthouse in which we stayed in Tajikistan so far! Everything was clean and comfortable, the young man running the place was very kind and helpful and, all in all, it really felt like we were at home somehow. Great value for money, 100% recommended!

The garden are so beautiful, and so calm and comfortable. Also all the staff（family） are so kind.

The accommodation was very clean, in a perfect location, had amazing staff, and a beautiful garden.

Very accommodating - we were exhausted after long ride from Dushanbe and they let us check-in at 6am and also provided us with apricots from the garden. There is a gas station and a market approx 100 meters from the place aswell.

It was super nice! Beautiful Garden, big House, very clean, nice kitchen. Best place in Khurog!! A bit out of the center, quiet and nice. Just perfect to chill and regain energy. Hodi (the owner) is very kind and very relaxed. Top place!! Will come again.

Safe parking for bikes and cars. Very quite, no traffic noise. Bakery, small shop and gas station with 95 octan in 200m. Next shop with beer 1,100m. Very helpfull hosts - I had lost a number plate. They speak English. Nice veranda. Fridge, stove, oven and more in the kitchen. Washing machine 250 per load.

I enjoyed my time in the Zur Housel because of the beautiful garden, river sound and mountain view. Room: My room was nice with picturesque garden and mountain view. Queen size bed in my room was comfortable for me as I am petite. Bed can be shorter for people of 180 cm or taller people. Common space: Kitchen with everything needed for cooking and storing food was a good help. Bathroom with laundry machine was useful. Keep in mind that there is no water in the bathroom from late midnight till morning. Indoor and outdoor sitting areas were a great place to meet and talk with other travelers and have some food with mountain and garden view. Internet: Bring some books and download movies before you come here. There is no internet and bad cell phone connection here in the Pamir mountains. So, be ready for that! Zur House is outside of the Khorog city center but in a walkable distance (25-45 minutes). There are also taxi and local mini buses #1 go to the Khorog city center from the road near the house. Traveler can take mini bus #1 from Khorog city center and come back to the house. Just stop at the gas station. There is a gas station and a small food shop (with everything needed for basic survival) near the house. So, I was fine as I came here for wild nature/not the city and crowd. Hodi, his parents and local people were so cordial and friendly to help and talk. Local people invited me to their houses for cup of tea or lunch when I was hiking in the mountains. Some of them even tried to give me their own hiking shoes when they saw me wearing crocs. I can recommend Zur House if you are looking for modest basic condition, silence, wild nature, digital detox and fresh air. Zur House reminded my grandmother’s village house. Very good childhood feelings. Village vibe. Relaxation from big city noise.

Travelled with a friend initially for two nights. I ended up staying for four and my friend a fifth because the accommodation was so great. The hosts were lovely, evening making us a lovely meal of chicken and fries one evening. Spacious, bright dacha with all the essentials. Close to the river for a swim and handy to get into the centre of town.

Wonderful and cozy house surrounded by a beautiful garden, with flowers and fruits, beyond a gazebo and a terrace where we loved to have meals. Perfect place to relax after a trekking trip. We are two Italians spending two weeks in the Pamirs to hike discovering these fascinating valleys. The host is very keen on sharing tips and cultural facts about Pamir and Tajikistan.

Zur House was one of the very best places we stayed in Tajikistan. The house and garden are genuinely beautiful, and the house was very large and comfortable. Also, the hosts were kind and helpful. They brought us fresh apricots and several traditional Pamiri dishes when they had made a lot of food, let us help ourselves from the cherry tree in the garden, and were accomodating of a late evening arrival time (we were held up by roadworks from Kalai-Khumb). We only spent a couple of nights here, but could easily have stayed a week relaxing in the garden. The house is about a 25-minute walk outside the city centre, but it was doable and meant that the neighbourhood had a quiet and almost semi-rural feeling (one of the family's neighbours kept cows and sheep). Lastly, this was the best value accommodation we had in Tajikistan.
