Overview
Located right in front of Shizukuishi Ski Resort, Shizukuishi Prince Hotel offers simple Western accommodations with mountain views. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby and guests can soothe in the indoor/outdoor public hot-spring baths. The property offers free shuttle services from JR Shizukuishi Train Station and JR Morioka Train Station, which are respectively a 20 and 60-minute drive away. The air-conditioned rooms feature a satellite TV, fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Japanese Yukata robes and toothbrush sets are provided for all guests. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer. Guests can relax with an in-room massage or sing at the private karaoke rooms. Local gifts can be bought at the souvenir shop and a coin-launderette is on-site. Photocopying services are offered at the front desk. A buffet featuring Japanese and Western dishes are served for breakfast and dinner. Dining venues may change depending on season. Prince Hotel Shizukuishi is a 15-minute drive from Koiwai Farm and a 35-minute drive from Lake Gosho. JR Morioka Train Station is a 1-hour drive away.

“Awesome stay and a great mountain”
This hotel is awesome if you are a keen skiier or snowboarder, we had great snow on the mountain every day and loved the ski in and ski out. The buffets were really good, the rooms were spacious for Japan and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and although not all of them spoke fluent English they still helped us with our needs via translate. We were able to send our snowboards to and from the hotel via Yamato which was a saviour for lugging them around on trains and cities. We booked a corner room which was a bit more expensive then a standard room so that we could have two large windows for the view, but seeing the standard rooms over the few days we stayed there we saw that they honestly all had a great view, so next time we will probably opt to just book a standard!

In short, a perfect one-night passing-by accommodation for low-price group tours. There were 9 tour buses parked in the night. Long que for below-average buffet, shoulder-to-shoulder bumping in the so called open air onsen, no refilling of amenities and even water bottles for the second night of stay - Everything was far from what I have experienced in many Japanese hotels before.

Ski in ski out. Easy access to both Shizukuishi and Tazawako ski fields (especially if you have access to your own car). Excellent onsen! Love the views to the koi pond and sloping woodlands behind the pond. Room are spacious and comfortable.

“Mountain stay for non skiers”
The outdoor onsen is very relaxing when quiet, and typical of Prince hotels, although this hotel is older than some we’ve stayed at. The views are incredible and we have never really experienced snow like this it was simply amazing! Excellent staff pre and during stay. Big rooms.

“A fine place to visit for skiing, golf or simply a hot spring relaxation trip.”
This was my third stay at this hotel, and as in the past everything was fine. The onsen at this hotel is excellent.
