“Fantastic stay”

Room was clean and spacious. Dinner and breakfast were great. Complimentary drinks, coffee, tea, afternoon mochi and late night ramen. Both public and private onsens were clean and very relaxing. Location is a short drive to Shirakawa-go

Breakfast was a very tasty Japaneese breakfast. The first morning we had a nice view over the river. Staff friendly. Beautiful hotel with Tatami floors.Complimentary ice poles(good selection),rice drink, afternoon mochi's, coffee machine, yukults, late night Ramen in the onsen area. Private onsen was a treat, you also have the option for the public one. Our room had a lovely view over the river, though it was a shame we couldn't access the path in the day as it would have been nice to go for a walk along it, especially with how hot and humid it was.

What a fantastic place. So beautifully appointed. The whole experience was awesome, from our rooms to our dinner to the baths to all the little extras! And having the transfer to & from Shirakawa was great.

The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful area. My room is with an amazing mountain and river view. The private onsen room is perfect.

“Wonderful”

We booked this one night stay last minute to break up too many city stays...wish we had booked two nights instead. Our room was lovely and big, no view except the carpark but I knew that. The onsen is fantastic especially as it also has two private baths! There is a coffee station open all day where you can help yourself and at certain times, other things as well...Yakukt at breakfast, mini ice creams in the afternoon and ramen after 10pm! There is also a free shuttle running every 30mins down to the bus station/ Gassho village which was very helpful. Try and book onto the 8.30am one so you have a little time in the village before the buses start arriving at 9am!

Beautiful & quiet, worthwhile paying more to get the Mountain View & hear the sound of flowing waters of the river.

“Great experience, even with kids”

We really enjoyed our stay (1 night) with our family of 3 (2 adults & 1 toddler). They were very accomodating and welcoming of our toddler. The shuttle to and from the hotel from Shirakawago was well organised. All staff members were polite and welcoming. The view from our room was wonderful. We also had dinner and everything was great; they even accomodated for vegetarian diet. We didn’t use the bath/onsen options during our stay although it looked really nice and has a nice view. Would highly recommend!

“One of the best options is Shirakawago”

It was a stunning experience. Friendly transfer from and to the bus station, an engaging and aesthetically pleasing interior of the hotel spaces, nice room with a soothing river view, relaxing onsen, an impressive kitchen with a lot of interesting dishes and ingredients that we've never tried before. What else do you need for a wonderful vacation that you won't forget for a long time?

Everything was extremely nice, clean and well planned. Meals were amazing and high quality. Would definitely come again in the future. Onsen was also amazing. Overall a great operation running with very helpful stuff.

What a wonderful experience it was to stay at this hotel! We loved the traditional feel and beautiful decor of the interiors. The tatami flooring meant you had to remove your shoes at reception, which I wish every hotel would do! The whole environment felt so clean. We were given loungewear and yukatas to wear if we wished to and we did. Going to our gourmet kaiseki dinner in a yukata felt just right. The dinner was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious, with wonderful service. We also had a lovely view of sunset on the mountains. The onsen was great too and we appreciated having a public as well as a private bath. Not only was dinner wonderful but we then had a surprise for breakfast. Breakfast was equally delicious and beautifully presented, such a nice gourmet experience. The whole package was also excellent value. All in all a great experience which I would recommend to anyone.

Very clean rooms and facilities. Staff was quite helpful, the dinner and breakfast were extremely big portion - we couldn't quite finish the food! We had a lovely view of the river from our room.

“Japanese style at the entrance of the village”

Situated at the entrance of the village, you can either take your car to the parking lot or the shuttle of the hotel to the busterminal. We visited the village at 4pm when most of the crowd was leaving the village (the parking lot closes at 5pm). Nice family room looking over the mountains. Having to take of your shoes and wear a traditional japanese outfit to go to the hotel facilities…we all loved it. Dinner and breakfast were like an art piece. So many little dishes. Really kids friendly. Our daughter is 4 yrs old, but everything was prepared for her in advance.

“Splendid onsen but for the rest won’t come back”

If it was only for the onsen I would give it a 10! It was a really fantastic place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The food was good as well, served by very kind staff.
