Stayed here before we started a hike on the Nakasendo. Got the breakfast in the morning, which was very good. Conveniently located for station and some restaurants. The rooms arent large but are comfortable and the in house onsen is large and good. Some good restaurants nearby, but Shiojiri doesnt have much else going on, unless you like wine and Whiskey.....

“Amazing authentic Japanese hotel”

The food was amazing!!! The staff made a real effort to cook us a fantastic Japanese meal and to explain to us how to eat it. The room we stayed in was an authentic Japanese room with no beds (only futons to be rolled out on the floor). I loved having this experience and would recommend for any western travellers looking to have a unique experience.

We are from Australia and do not speak Japanese. The staff were very patient, kind and helpful. The hotel seems like it is from a grander time. The small, extra touches of complimentary toiletries were lovely.

Very friendly staff with amazing English! The lady gave me some great suggestions for dinner and where to try some local wines! 5⭐ for staff alone! Good location, short walk from the station, with restaurants and konbini nearby. Breakfast was okay, buffet style, the rice was delicious! Nice bathing area as well.

“Relaxed and pampered”

It is a calm, soothing and serene place to stay. there is a public bathroom if you prefer to have a soak in a big space. Soaking in a hot bath means a good night sleep. the breakfast provided was excellent. I feel i have been pampered.

Shiojiri was a tricky place to find accommodation. We chose this because of proximity to station and it was a delightful find. The room was quite large the bathroom slightly bigger than some.
