“Friendly comfortable Japanese Bed and Breakfast”

Our host was super considerate, even as we arrived late at night (10pm) we were welcomed and our car had a spot available under the carport. It was a very pleasant experience staying at Santari. The feeling of being welcome and the amazing breakfast in the morning was just what my son and I needed on our first night in Hokkaido.

“A fabulous B&B in the Shintoku area.”

We stopped overnight at this wonderful B&B, and it was delightful. We were a family of four and booked out the two twin rooms. Both rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The bathroom and toilet facilities were excellent, too. There are a few restaurants in the local area, otherwise you'll have to drive to Shintoku for more choices. We opted for the local yakiniku restaurant opposite the house. It was great for dinner. The host made a reservation for us and even accompanied us to help us with the order. The host was extremely kind, helpful, and gracious. He offered great insights into the local area and had excellent recommendations for our journey in Hokkaido. Breakfast was also fabulous.

Easy check in, friendly host, Host was kind & considerate, he even went as far a to gift us some food for our travels which unexpected yet thankfully welcome. Room was clean tidy as was the bathroom facilities. Overall an excellent place to stay.

The host kindness and hospitality

The highlight for sure was the host Kazu, he was so welcoming, friendly and kind. He made us feel at home straight away which we really appreciate. The room was really comfy with plenty of space and the lounge was cosy with a fireplace. Each day breakfast was exceptional. Kazu had tips on what to do in the local area. Everything was super neat and tidy which made for a great stay. The location was a great place to base ourselves for snowboarding, sahoro about a 20 minute drive and tomamu close to an hour. There is a supermarket across the road and shintoku is a 10 minute drive with more restaurant options. I'd highly recommend staying here and hope to do so again. Thanks Kazu

“Cozy and modern guest house with great host”

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with an extremely gracious host. The guest house is modern with a cozy feel due to the wood burning stove in the common space. The breakfast was outstanding and unique. The location is in a tiny town which we used as a base to ski Sahoro (20 minutes) and Tomamu (50 minutes). Especially nice was the fact the host made reservations for us at a few of his recommended restaurants, and drove us so we could enjoy alcohol. We would definitely return.

The host was very friendly and made very useful recommendations on places to visit and food to try. He also provided a flight of Japanese whiskies to try. There was also a quaint wood burning fireplace that kept us toasty during our stay in Dec. This is a very comfortable and homey place to stay.

“Wonderful welcoming host”

Wonderful stay in an immaculate and welcoming home. All facilities you possibly need. Everything very clean and well presented. Host (Santari Nemoto) is a friendly and helpful man and we shared a lovely evening with him. From booking our evening meal, sharing his Japanese whiskey collection with us, to cooking a delicious breakfast, we would love to thank him for his hospitality and recommend everyone to stay here when you are visiting the area.

It feels like home. Kazu-san, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. We were lucky that there was a small festival held nearby and he drove us there. He was also knowledgeable and we had a good time chatting just about anything.

“Excellent stay at Santari”

Out of all the accommodations during our 15 days trip, this was the best. It was very clean with alot of care in ensuring a safe, restful and enjoyable stay. The host and his wife even woke up early to prepare takeaway breakfast for us as we had to drive to Unkai Terrace at 4.30am. We were brought the night before to a local yakitori restaurant by our host where we had very reasonably priced BBQ food. Highly recommend this place. It's an hour drive to the Unkai Terrace.

Santari Guesthouse is very clean, comfortable and convenient. The owner is very warm and helpful. Besides preparing a very good breakfast, Kazu-san also helped us make reservation for dinner and helped us to order food as we are not able to communicate in Japanese. Thanks very much Kazu-san !
