White Tree Lodge was a wonderful find, being small, quiet and welcoming, with easy access to Tangram Ski Circus and Madarao Ski Resort . The owners Hayden and Saki were super helpful in the lead up to our arrival, providing a lot of information that made our first time visit to ski Japan a lot less stressful, including recommending a local car rental company (shout out to Julz of MJ Car Services) and being a one stop shop for ski rentals, instructors/guides and discounted lift passes for both resorts. My daughter and I enjoyed a very comfortable room with enough space for us and all our gear. While the ensuite was small (not unusual in ski resorts) access to a private ‘bath’ (large and warm) with shower facilities gave us a relaxing and welcome space after a day of enjoying the slopes. My daughter commented that ‘Hayden and Saki did a good job at hiring their staff’. She wasn’t wrong! The ‘gang’ that looked after us were just awesome! From Fern and Jack in the kitchen offering different breakfasts each day and providing a wonderfully diverse dinner menu; to the wonderfully friendly service by the dining room staff Julianna and Nora; Stephen getting our ski hire right for us; and Susie and Llyal being fun and experienced instructors and guides. White Tree Lodge was also well situated to explore not only the local ski runs, but close enough to access the 4 Myoko-Kogan resorts (15-30 min away) and Nozawa-onsen (just under an hour by car).

White tree is a great place to stay. Very family orientated and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable and the food was good.

Hayden and Saki were great hosts. We were picked up from and dropped off at the bus stop when we arrived, which made getting to White Tree Lodge very easy. Ski hire was also seamless, and you’re a stone throw away from the chairlift at Tangram.

Breakfast each morning was good, easy and had a great variety. The lodge was cosy and friendly and had a good vibe. We loved the option for an evening meal and the food was delicious. Good location and we liked that it was a little secluded but with easy access to the closest lift. Local restaurants were close by within easy walking distance.

It was a beautiful family friendly lodge, warm and cosy. The owners Hayden and Suki were lovely and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The rooms were lovely and clean with heated floors and comfortable beds. The hot bath was amazing at the end of a long day on the slopes. The home cooked food was absolutely delicious. The views were just magical. We loved everything about our stay

Owned and run by amazing host Kiki and Hayden. Helps to have both Japanese and English speaking to cater for local and international guest. What a beautiful location with the option of driving to so many other ski fields if you have a car (30 to 45mins away). If you arrive by bus, host will come and pick you up and drive you back to bus stop. The ski lift to the 2 main resorts tangram & madarao is 5mins walk from lodge. There was a lot of snow so we could ski back to the lodge along the road. Breakfast each day was varied and yummy. We extended our stay to 6 nights as we loved it. Hayden went out of his way to organise a rental car for us so that we could take a day off skiing and go for a drive to the coast. Perfect place and look forward to returning. Love how this and other lodges close by each have different cuisine for dinner. Beds are comfortable. Room had underfloor heating and seperate air con unit should you need it. Lodge was warm and comfortable

The hotel is very closed to the Tangram ski resort. You may walk to the chairlift. Also, they have shuttle services to the lobby as well, which is very convenient for carrying a lot of ski equipment.

Staying at White Tree Lodge felt like visiting family Hayden and Saki are great hosts who do everything to help and make your stay enjoyable, room and lodge facilities comfortable, great location close to ski lifts and other restaurants in the village, and the home cooked Japanese food in the white tree restaurant was delicious with a great variety on menu. I have been skiing in Japan for 15 years and white tree is a definite standout and would highly recommended

Thank you very much, Hayden and Saki, for your outstanding hospitality! You were very helpful and friendly, all our requests were accommodated. Breakfasts and dinners were yummy, the onsen was cozy and comfortable, warm floor was just amazing. The lodge has skis and snowboards storage, a boiler room to dry wet clothes, free high speed wifi. Also, we used laundry service and luggage delivery service. Everything worked perfectly. A ski lift which leads to Tangram's slopes is located within 5 min walk from the lodge. We wish all the best to this family business and definitely recommend this accommodation for all ski lovers!

Saki and Hayden were amazing hosts, made us feel very welcome. The staff were lovely and the food DELISH! Breakfast was different each day and super tasty. Japanese room was so comfy and cosy. Overall, a great stay and would come again

Family run. You get the impression they really care about you. Nothing was a problem, they wentit well out of their way to please.
