The hosts, Hannes and Ansie, were absolutely amazing. They made us feel like family. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Room and bathroom are very spacious and the view over the Kavongo river is amazing. Everybody should have the opportunity to stay here

The location is absolutely stunning and the staff very friendly and thoughtful. We wanted to go from Etosha to Caprivi and this location is then the perfect stop in between. We only stayed for one night but its a perfect place to stay a bit longer. They have an amazing chef who made us a lovely dinner, and besides that we also went on the sunrise cruise which was very nice as well.

Excellent hosts that went above and beyond!

The room, the breakfast, the bar quality, everything excellent! The owners really care about their guests and did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The owner of the facility accompanied us on a boat tour in the area and he explained to us a lot about the local wildlife. He was super nice to us and he also suggested the local souvenir shop which was a gem for our trip. Definitely recommended!

Situated in beautiful gardens clearly well maintained. Fantastic location on the river and very peaceful. Very basic facilities for cooking but perfectly adequate. Room was very comfortable. Hosts were exceptionally lovely.

A great location for travelling from Etosha to Caprivi Strip. Its a real haven on the Kavango river and the sunsets are beautiful. The facilities in the rooms are good and the home made rusks amazingly good. It's a great spot for bird watching.

“Perfect relaxing place for on the road stopover or longer stay”

The location, peace and tranquillity; the welcome from Hannes and Ansie; Ansie’s cooking (including leg of springbok; homemade ice cream and vegetarian dishes); the location on the river on the border with Angola; the river jetty; the privacy of the individually distinct lodges (ours was giraffe, complete with giraffe-shaped metal silhouette on screen door!); the thoughtfulness of the touches in the lodges, such as gas hob with kettle to make morning tea with jar of homemade biscotti; the views from the dining deck; the conviviality around the camp fire after dinner with Hannes and another family, who were travelling from Austria. Our only regret was that our itinerary didn’t permit us to extend our stay, which has only strengthened our resolve to come back again one day, for longer! Thank you Hannes and Ansie. Rom 15:7- we felt truly welcomed.

Mukuku Rest Camp is a fabulous spot to stay in this area. Ansie and Hannes were very welcoming hosts, super friendly and helpful with regional information (the afternoon boat cruise was quite informative). The gardens are lovely, as are all the common areas. Our group loved the welded art pieces throughout the camp. Accommodation was spotless and comfortable. Dinner was hearty and delicious. An extra day to simply relax here would have been ideal!
