We especially loved the peaceful location of the holiday house right by the water. It’s a wonderful place to relax and unplug. The apartment itself was very well equipped, the kitchen was fully furnished, and the bathroom and toilets were modern and well maintained, just like the rest of the place.

As good as I'd hoped! It's so close to the sea you can see fish from your windows. Outside there are crabs, calm ocean waters and wooded hills . The property is clean, spacious, modern. It has 2 toilets, a large bath, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher. Highly recommend

“Lovely guesthouse on tranquil Ago Bay”

Lovely recently renovated guesthouse right on the waters of beautiful Ago Bay. Three tatami bedrooms with views over the water. Good modern kitchen and spacious bathroom with large bath. Self check-in and owner will supply details (English no problem). Best to have a car as the road to the guesthouse is quite long, narrow and twisty. Well worth the effort though

Great place to stay right on the water. Easy enough to get to if you know how to drive. Bring food as there is all the mod cons to cook with. Restaurant next door but unsure of hours open.

Wow 😲 what a fantastic location ! It was almost like staying on a moored luxury houseboat. Every comfort and facility was supplied in the immaculately clean and well presented modern inn. Communication was excellent and friendly before and during the stay. Other reviews comment about the drive into the site but I found it very pleasurable and the views of the Bay before the final descent are amazing. The water views over the tranquil peaceful setting and amazing sunsets were worth the stay alone. Wide comfortable car parking onsite and a great base for short drives to surrounding sightseeing attractions, with all the conveniences of Ugata city only 15 minutes away. For me the Shima region is the best location I have stayed in Japan.

It is very spacious and recently renovated. It is very quiet and communication with the host went very well. It is a beautiful area.

Sublime! A beautiful, comfortable, newly renovated old pearl processing building. Feels like it’s floating on the water. The host is lovely and generous. It’s quiet and off the tourist trail. The location is an artists dream…wanted to stay there a week and draw the estuary, nori farms, traditional fishing activities. It’s very natural with a richly biodiverse forest all about. Plus there’s 2 top quality kayaks to explore the inlets.
