Overview
The Oceanfront Inn is located in Shelter Cove, California, right in the middle of the famous Lost Coast. The area is pristine, beautiful, and remote. Each bright room offers a private balcony overlooking the ocean. Amenities in the room include Starlink Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster Keurig coffee maker, and a private bathroom stocked with toiletries. Common areas on the property offer a BBQ grill, deck box full of grilling and picnic supplies, gas fireplace on the patio, outdoor games on the south lawn, and ample seating on the oceanside lawn. We have a small gift shop and snacks available in the office, along with maps and brochures of local activities. The staff is super friendly and wishes to help our guests have a wonderful stay. Outdoor activities are numerous: hiking, fishing, tide pooling, whale watching, beach going and swimming. Wildlife abounds in town and in the water, including deer, fox, sea and land birds, seals, sea lions, and river otter. The Oceanfront Inn is 30 miles from the Avenue of the Giants, an amazing 32 mile auto tour viewing California's coastal redwood trees with abundant stops for hiking, picnicking, and stopping in the small towns along the way for shopping and restaurants.

“Amazing view”
We never met any staff. The facilities are a little tired but everything worked and we were happy with the location. The only bug bear was other people walking on the deck of the apartment. The view is extraordinary. Well worth the drive.

“Amazing location”
This was as amazing location right on the beachfront. We could see the sea lions basking in the sun just off the shore. The place was large and quite well equipped.

Location, location, location. Yes, it's expensive. Yes it's a pain to get to. But boy, is it worth the effort. Fantastic!

“It was an amazing stay and convenient. Awesome view and very cool that it is close to a cafe.”
Location was amazing. The new cafe next door made it convenient and easy to get breakfast. A few changes have been made since our last stay and it is looking good. Still the same service, which was awesome.

Interesting drive in - very curvy and long drive. Ok if you were going in to stay somewhat put but wouldn't want to drive in and out to the highway a lot. Once there, the secluded community was nice and quiet with fabulous views

“Would love to come back sometime”
Fantastic location. Sea view and seals outside the window and deer in the car park! Would liked to have stayed longer. The drive to Shelter Cove is interesting to say the least - lots of turns and height changes.
